Prayer for recovery

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord, I pray that everything either stolen, or owed to me would be returned to me this week. Also, I pray that the Holy Spirit would sear my brothers conscience to repent of the witchcraft he has embraced. In Jesus name

We hear your cry for justice and restoration, and we join with you in lifting these heavy burdens before the throne of grace. The Lord is a God of justice, and He sees every wrong that has been done to you. Scripture tells us in Proverbs 6:30-31, "Men don’t despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry; but if he is found, he shall restore seven times. He shall give all the wealth of his house." While this speaks to the severity of theft, we also know that God is able to move in ways that bring restoration beyond what we can imagine. We pray that He would intervene in your situation, returning what has been taken from you, whether material, emotional, or spiritual, this week, according to His perfect will.

We also stand with you in fervent prayer for your brother, for the grip of witchcraft is a serious and dangerous deception. The Bible is clear in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, "There shall not be found with you anyone who... uses divination, practices sorcery, or casts a spell... For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh." Witchcraft is not merely a harmless exploration of spirituality; it is an open door to darkness and rebellion against God. We rebuke the spirit of deception that has blinded your brother and pray that the Holy Spirit would indeed sear his conscience, bringing conviction and repentance. May he turn away from these practices and run into the arms of Jesus, where true freedom and life are found.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. Lord, You see the injustice that has been done, and You are a God who restores. We ask that You would move powerfully this week to return what has been stolen or withheld from [this individual]. Let Your justice prevail, and may Your name be glorified in the restoration.

Father, we also lift up [their] brother, who has embraced witchcraft. We break the power of deception over his life in Jesus’ name. Holy Spirit, we ask that You would convict him deeply, that he would see the danger of what he has embraced and turn away from it with godly sorrow. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him to repentance and salvation. Let him know the truth of Your Word, that in You alone is there life, peace, and freedom.

We declare that no weapon formed against [this individual] or their family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn. We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. Strengthen [them] in this season, and fill [them] with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in faith, trusting that God hears your prayers and is at work even now. Continue to seek Him in His Word and in prayer, for He is your defender and your provider. If your brother is open, share the truth of the Gospel with him in love, for it is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16). May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in His ways.

We hear the ache in your request, the weight of loss and the deeper pain of watching your brother embrace something so destructive. It takes real love to keep praying for his conscience to be stirred, and we are with you in that.

In praying for what was stolen or owed, it can help to remember that God sees every hidden thing. He is both just and able to restore, but He often works on a timeline that stretches our trust. While you keep asking, ask also for the grace to hold these losses with open hands, not letting bitterness take root if this week doesn’t bring the resolution you long for.

About your brother: the Holy Spirit does bring conviction, and the kind that leads to genuine change, not just feeling bad, but a total about-face. True repentance means turning from witchcraft, not merely regretting its consequences. So as you pray, you are asking God to break through any spiritual blindness and awaken a holy dissatisfaction that drives him toward Christ. That can be a process, so don’t grow weary.

One practical step you might consider is inviting a few trusted, mature believers from your church to pray with you about him. Spiritual bondage often gives way when God’s people stand in united faith. No drama needed, just steady, specific prayer that covers him, renounces any darkness on his behalf, and asks the Holy Spirit to move powerfully.

Let’s pray:

Father, we bring this family before You. For everything that has been taken or withheld, we ask for Your justice and provision in Your way and time. Protect this one’s heart from resentment. And for this brother, we plead that Your Spirit would sear his conscience with truth. Break the lure of witchcraft, expose its emptiness, and draw him to genuine repentance and the freedom only Jesus gives. Surround him with voices that speak hope. In Jesus’ name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your desire for recovery of what is lost moves my heart, yet I must lift your eye to a higher treasure. The Lord may restore your goods, but far more urgent is the recovery of your brother’s soul from the snare of witchcraft. You pray the Holy Spirit would sear his conscience; but take heed, for judgment alone may produce only a carnal repentance that never gives God glory. True repentance is the work of the Spirit, a gift that leads to life, not a mere fright of conscience. The goodness of God, not the terrors of hell, draws sinners to genuine change. Let us pray that God’s kindness leads your brother to that sweet, godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of.

The repentance which ejects sin as an evil tenant, and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart, this is saving repentance. Where repentance is real, remission of sins follows as dawn follows night. But if it be a sorrow only of the flesh, forged without the Spirit, it will itself need repenting of. Therefore, cry to God that He would give your brother this gift, that he might know Joseph’s tender word, “I am Joseph, your brother,” spoken by Jesus, who still loves the straying soul with an everlasting compassion.

For yourself, if you are feebled by this trial, remember that recovery may be slow. As you gain strength, you see the Lord’s claim fresh upon your affection. And if you have lost earthly goods, yet in Christ your sin is pardoned; that is treasure no thief can steal. Grasp Him, and all else is dross.

You pray for the swift return of what was taken from you, and your longing is understandable. But let us consider a weightier matter. Imagine a servant who owes his master a great sum and then is robbed by unjust men. If the master, instead of chasing down the thieves, simply credits the stolen amount toward the servant's debt, is that servant wronged? Far from it. He is even relieved of a burden he could never repay. So it is with us. Every loss we suffer in this life can be reckoned by our merciful Lord against the vast debt of our sins. When you insist that everything must be restored this week, you may be demanding that God withdraw a hidden mercy. Learn to bear losses with thanksgiving, as Job did, and you will see that either the things themselves are returned in God's time, or you receive a far greater reward. Do not fix your eyes on the recovery of money or goods, but on the profit of your soul.

Then you pray that your brother's conscience would be seared into repentance for his witchcraft. But what kind of repentance do you seek? Esau wept loudly and sought the blessing with tears, yet he found no place of repentance, because his sorrow was not godly grief but worldly regret. True repentance is a gift that comes not from a terrified conscience alone, but from a heart humbled by the Spirit, turned away from sin and toward God. Pray for him, yes, with long-suffering and meekness, as Paul teaches, “if perhaps God may give them repentance to the knowledge of the truth.” But remember that even Moses, whose prayers delivered six hundred thousand from divine wrath, could not rescue his sister Miriam from the leprosy that came upon her, because repentance begins within the sinner. Therefore, while you intercede, examine yourself as well. Have you shown him mercy? Have you approached him with the same patience you desire from God? The prayers of the saints have mighty power, but only when accompanied by our own amendment and a heart that does not stand open-mouthed at another's fault.

Do not dictate to God the hour of restitution or the manner of your brother's awakening. The Holy Spirit convicts according to divine wisdom, not human deadlines. If you bear this trial with a thankful spirit, you may yet recover more than you lost, perhaps not silver, but a brother eternally restored. And that would be a recovery indeed, for the Church is a spiritual bath that cleanses every stain, if we but enter it with true sorrow. Trust, then, in the physician's knife.

The Holy Spirit does not need to sear a conscience, because a conscience already knows how to accuse. What you are really asking is that your brother would stop running from the accusation he already feels and turn back from the path he has chosen. That is a prayer God honors, and I will join you in it.

When I read your request, I think about how guilt operates. In the story of Joseph, his brothers sat for years with the memory of their cruelty, how they saw his anguish and would not listen. They called it exactly that: “We are truly guilty concerning our brother.” The distress that later found them did not happen by accident. It was the merciful, heavy hand of God pressing on old, unrepented sin. But the end God had in mind was not simply to crush them; it was to bring them to a place where they would finally own what they had done, with no more evasions. That is what you want for your brother.

A person can weep bitterly over the wreckage and still never truly repent. Esau sought the blessing with loud cries, but the Scripture is careful to show that he found no place of repentance. He was sorry he had lost what he wanted, not sorry that he had despised his birthright. Tears are not the same thing as a turned heart. Do not be discouraged if your brother shows remorse for the chaos in his life but still clutches the very practices that caused it. The real evidence of God’s work will be when he calls witchcraft what God calls it and lets go of it entirely, not when he simply wants relief from its consequences.

Pray, then, that the Holy Spirit would bring your brother’s own story back to him with such clarity that he can no longer deflect it. Pray that he would remember the truth he once knew, just as Joseph’s brothers were forced to remember their father’s grief and their brother’s face. God often uses a crisis of circumstance to corner a man into honesty, and that is precisely what you are asking for.

As for what has been stolen or is owed, God is a God of restoration, but his timing and his methods are his own. He restored Joseph’s life in ways none of the brothers could have predicted, and when he restored the family, he did it on terms that required their hearts to be laid bare first. Do not fix your faith on a seven-day window. Fix it on the character of the One who sees every hidden transaction. Justice and mercy belong to him. He can return what was taken. He can repay what is owed. But he will often tie material recovery to deep spiritual work, both in you and in the one who wronged you.

While you wait, examine your own heart for any root of bitterness. You have been wronged, and that wound is real, but the goal is not merely to see your brother humiliated or forced to pay up. The goal is that he would become an eternal brother in Christ, received no longer as a slave to darkness but as one for whom Jesus died. That is the kind of exchange Paul pressed for when he interceded, even offering to cover the debt himself. That is the kind of intercession that hurts and costs, and it is the kind Jesus lives to make for us all.

So I will pray with you that your brother’s eyes would open and that his hands would loosen their grip on everything that opposes the living God. And I will pray that whatever has been stolen or withheld would be returned, not merely as a transaction, but as a sign that God’s justice is at work and his mercy is not yet finished. Hold fast to the God who appeared to fugitives and dreamers, and do not let your hope shrink to a deadline.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your heartfelt prayers for restoration and repentance. It has been our privilege to stand with you before the throne of grace, asking our Father to return what was taken and to soften your brother’s heart through the convicting power of the Holy Spirit.

If the Lord has already moved in these situations—if lost things have been restored or if your brother’s conscience has begun to stir—we would love to rejoice with you. Please share a praise report so we can all give thanks together. If the answer hasn’t yet come, or if the battle feels ongoing, we encourage you to post this request again. We remain committed to praying alongside you, believing that God hears and will act in His perfect timing.

May the Lord continue to strengthen your faith as you seek Him, and may His peace guard your heart in Christ Jesus. We pray this in Jesus’ mighty name.
