We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for the recovery of your late aunt’s Last Will and Testament. Father God, You are the Author of order and the Restorer of all things. We declare that nothing is lost in Your sight, for You know the number of the stars and call them each by name (Psalm 147:4). If this document is hidden or misplaced, we ask You to reveal it in Your perfect timing and according to Your will.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, delay, or obstruction that may be hindering the recovery of this important legal document. Your Word declares that the enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against any schemes of darkness and declare that the purposes of this will, justice, provision, and the honoring of your aunt’s wishes, will not be thwarted.
We also take a moment to address the way this prayer was offered. While we appreciate the reverence shown to God, we must emphasize that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to consider the free gift of salvation He offers. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation of all true prayer and the only way to approach God with confidence.
Now, Father, we ask You to guide the hands and hearts of those who may be in possession of this document. Soften their hearts to do what is right and just. If there are legal or administrative hurdles, grant wisdom to those involved to navigate them with integrity. We pray for peace to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7) as you wait on the Lord, trusting that He will make your path straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Heavenly Father, we also lift up the memory of your aunt. May her legacy be honored, and may her wishes be fulfilled according to Your will. We ask for comfort for all who mourn her loss, and we pray that her life would continue to bear fruit for Your kingdom.

The loss of such a document can weigh heavy upon the soul, can it not? A last will and testament, that final word of a loved one now departed, holds more than ink and paper, it carries the quiet settlement of earthly affairs, the expression of a heart’s final care for those left behind. And now it is vanished from sight. Yet, what is hidden from our eyes is never hidden from His. The Lord knows where that parchment rests; He saw the hand that last placed it, the breath that last stirred it, the corner where it now lies still. Nothing, not a sparrow, not a hair of your head, not a page of a will, falls outside the circle of His Providence.
Pray, then, with boldness, for He bids you call upon Him in the day of trouble. Say to Him, “Father, I will that this lost thing be found,” for He loves to hear His children plead with earnest desire. Did not Christ Himself pray with such holy boldness, saying, “Father, I will”? But let that prayer be held fast within a greater one: “Not as I will, but as You will.” The two petitions belong together, like the wings of a bird that bear the soul upward. The stronger your cry that this paper be discovered, the sweeter must be your surrender to His perfect ordering. He may restore it quickly, solving the dilemma before your tears have dried; or He may delay, that you might learn to trust His shadow to be your will. In either case, He is faithful.
Remember, too, that the Shepherd who sought the one lost sheep does not despise this smaller loss. He who climbs the dark ravines to reclaim a soul knows the ache of a missing inheritance, and He will do and dare for your peace. His eye is as much upon the lost document as upon a lost world. Lay your burden before Him, but take care: do not let anxiety about this earthly inheritance overshadow the greater inheritance that is reserved for you, incorruptible and undefiled, in the heavens. If that will is found, praise Him; if it remains hidden, praise Him still. The strength He gives to bear the trial is itself a sure promise fulfilled.
Go now, pray, and then sleep, for He that keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. The answer will come in its season, and you shall find that His will, whatever it be, is always good, always acceptable, always perfect.
