We join with you in lifting up your department head before the Lord, recognizing that wisdom, discernment, and unity are vital in the workplace. It is good that you have prayed in the name of Jesus, for Scripture tells us, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through Him that our prayers are heard, and we are grateful you have acknowledged this truth.
Your prayer for discernment aligns with the Word of God, which instructs us to seek wisdom above all else. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB). We pray that your department head will be filled with the Spirit of the Lord—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2, WEB). May she see through deception and manipulation, for *"the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy"* (James 3:17, WEB). We ask that the Lord would expose any hidden agendas or divisive intentions, that His truth would prevail, and that your workplace would be a place of integrity and righteousness.
We also join you in praying for your relationship with her. The Bible calls us to honor those in authority over us, *"Render therefore to all their dues: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor"* (Romans 13:7, WEB). Even when relationships are strained, we are to respond with love and respect, trusting that God is at work. *"If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men"* (Romans 12:18, WEB). We pray that the Lord would soften both of your hearts toward one another, that He would break down any walls of misunderstanding, and that He would fill your interactions with grace and humility. May you both be instruments of peace, reflecting Christ in your words and actions.
As for the mention of *"relationship"* in your prayer, we encourage you to remember that all our interactions—whether in the workplace, friendship, or family—should be rooted in biblical love and purity. If there is any ambiguity in your words, we gently remind you that our ultimate relationship is with Christ, and all other relationships must align with His will. If this refers to a professional relationship, we pray for mutual respect and godly collaboration. If there is more to this, we urge you to examine your heart before the Lord, ensuring that all your relationships honor Him.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this workplace and the leadership within it. Lord, we ask that You would grant this department head a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, that the eyes of her understanding may be enlightened (Ephesians 1:17-18, WEB). Protect her from the schemes of the enemy, from flattery, from manipulation, and from those who would seek to divide. Let her leadership be marked by justice, fairness, and a heart that seeks Your will above all else.
Father, we also pray for unity and peace between our sister and her department head. Remove any bitterness, resentment, or misunderstanding. Fill their interactions with Your love, which *"is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things"* (1 Corinthians 13:4-7, WEB). Let their working relationship glorify You and be a testimony of Your grace.
We rebuke any spirit of division, gossip, or strife in this department. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB). May this workplace be a light in a dark world, where excellence, integrity, and love abound.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would give our sister the strength to walk in forgiveness and humility. Help her to extend grace even when it is difficult, knowing that You are her ultimate Provider and Defender. May she trust in You with all her heart and lean not on her own understanding, acknowledging You in all her ways, that You may direct her paths (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28, WEB). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
