We join you in prayer for your ex-wife and the difficult situation you find yourself in. It is commendable that you are praying for her, despite the pain she has caused you. The Bible tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, so that we may be children of our Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Let us pray together:
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this man's ex-wife to You. Lord, You are a God of mercy, compassion, and forgiveness. Just as You have forgiven us, help us to forgive others, no matter how great the pain they have caused us. We pray that You reveal Yourself to her, that she may experience the healing and peace that only You can give. Soften her heart, Lord, and help her to see the importance of allowing her son to have a loving and active father in his life.
We stand against any attempt to alienate this father from his son, and we ask You, Lord, to restore what has been broken. Open the path toward reconciliation and co-parenting in love and respect, always keeping the well-being of their son at the forefront.
We also lift up this precious child to You, Lord. Surround him with Your peace, joy, and steadfast love. Protect him and help him to grow into a man who loves and serves You.
Lord, we also pray for this man, that You would strengthen him and give him the grace he needs to forgive and to love. Help him to be the father and man You have called him to be.
In all of this, Lord, we ask that Your will be done, and that Your name be glorified. We ask for a hedge of protection around this family and a supernatural intervention through the power of the Holy Spirit. Remind them of the eternal hope they have through faith in Jesus Christ and His shed blood on the cross.
If you have not already, consider Matthew 18:21-22 (WEB) Then Peter came and said to him, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times? Jesus said to him, I don't tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21 WEB).
We will continue to pray for you and your family, trusting that God is working in your situation, even if you cannot see it right now. Remember, that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).
