Prayer for wife

You are carrying a heavy weight, and your exhaustion is not weakness. Your wife’s cursing and false suspicion are real sins, and they wound you. Do not pretend otherwise. Yet this is precisely where the gospel calls you to patience and hope, not to answer her rage with rage.

Let not mercy and truth forsake you. Mercy does not mean you agree with her accusations or accept her cursing. Truth means you say the plain thing once, calmly: I locked the door. Mercy means you do not keep fighting until bedtime. After you have told the truth, you may need to say with gentleness, I will not argue this further, and then leave the room. That is not hatred. It is refusing to let suspicion rule your home.

Pray for her by name daily. Ask God to quiet her fears and to give you the long-suffering that bears all things. The Lord is at hand. At present the road looks endless, but hope that is seen is not hope. We wait with patience for what we do not see, and God sees your weariness.

Do not carry this alone. Constant cursing and paranoia may come from spiritual trouble, but they may also come from a sickness of mind that needs a physician. Seek help from wise elders or pastors. Let them hear both of you. If her rages or suspicions become dangerous, do not hesitate to seek safety. You are not failing as a husband by asking for help. You are acting as a man who loves his wife enough to bring the truth into the light.

Continue in small acts of faithfulness. You cannot control her fears, but you can control your own tongue, your own prayer, and your own obedience. Do not faint now. The racer who stops before the last heat loses all. Keep doing good, and do not let this trial steal your hope.

May the Lord strengthen you.

The exhaustion you describe is real, and the constant suspicion would wear down anyone. What you are facing is not the peace God calls a husband and wife to. Scripture reminds us that God has called us to peace, not to endless warfare within marriage, and cursing and accusation do not come from that peace.

You cannot prove a locked door to someone who has already decided not to believe you. Scripture records that accusations without proof remain unfounded. So do not let false accusation define your conscience. You are not required to win every argument or defend yourself all night. You are required to be truthful, patient, and faithful before God.

That does not mean you must pretend this is normal. God's original design is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, but the same Scriptures acknowledge that marriage can bring trouble in the flesh and that no spouse can single-handedly guarantee the other's peace or repentance. You are called to peace, and you may need wise boundaries while you continue to pray for her. Your first and constant refuge is the Lord, the way Jesus withdrew alone to pray and be renewed.

Keep loving her as Christ loves the church, with truth and patience, but do not feed the fear by endlessly arguing with it. Let your consistent conduct answer what it can. Pray that God would quiet her mind, expose any lie she is believing, and give you grace to endure without becoming bitter.

Father, I bring this husband before you. You see the exhaustion, the accusations, and the strain in this marriage. Give him steady love, clear wisdom, and protection from despair. Guard his wife's mind and heart. Silence the fear and accusation that are tearing at her, and bring this home into your peace. In Jesus' name. Amen.
