Prayer for the coming hours

Your faith has done well to acknowledge that it is Jesus who brings this matter to pass, for he who trusts in the Lord in temporal things shall be happy indeed. We are not to be idle, nor impudent and rash, but acting in all prudence, we rely simply and entirely upon Him. One must first be made a child of God, and then he can trust his affairs in his Father's hands, and thus you will not have to mourn because you have used sinful means to gain your desire.

We trust in the living God, the God who made heaven and earth and supports the entire universe by the power of His almighty arms. He is self-existent, independent, eternal; our very breath depends upon His will. Yet behold His singular patience, for He waits to be gracious, and His waiting people wait upon Him expectantly, in hope, not in despair. Make God your only dependence; let your soul take Him for its only pillar, and though you tread on uncertain ground, yet if He bids you walk there, it shall be heaven to you.

But remember, the glory of God shines brightest in the face of Jesus Christ. Not merely a distant God, but God manifest in the flesh, God with us. It is Christ who bleeds, who dies, who rose, and upon Him all our sin was laid. He bore the punishment, that we might never bear the Father’s righteous ire. This is a rock to stand on, a safe resting-place for those who trust in Jesus. If you trust Him, you shall be saved; trust Him now, in the dark hours and in the light. Look to Jesus, and wait no longer at the water’s edge, but rise, take up your bed, and walk.

Pray for the patience of waiting His will, saying, Let Him do what seems Him good. Christ is glorified by our patience, and the Lord will show Himself strong on behalf of them that trust Him. Omnipotent love restrains omnipotence itself for your good. Go on and fear not; He cannot, will not, turn away from you. Yet let this temporal need drive you deeper, to meditate on Christ, to commune with Him in heavenly places, and to joy in the God of your salvation even if the fig tree does not blossom. Trust in the name of the Lord and stay upon your God, for it must, in the end, be well with the man who trusts in Him and waits for Him.

You ask prayer for your car loan, and rightly you confess that Jesus is good and that He is the one bringing it to pass. It is well to turn to Him in every need, for every good gift comes from above. But take care, lest you set your heart too much on this earthly matter. The true blessing is not a loan approval, not any carnal thing that perishes.

What did our father Jacob gain by his blessings? He passed his days in toil and fear, and the promise was not fulfilled in his lifetime but pointed to the world to come. So with us: we have been given every spiritual blessing in Christ, not the fleeting comforts of this age. Jesus came to save us from our sins, not to make us rich in this world.

If the loan is granted, receive it with thanksgiving, but use it as a servant, not a master. If it is not, still thank Him, for He knows what profits your soul. Let the comfort of God, who raises the dead, be your strength. Do not cling to carnal things; aim at the heavenly.

Turn your mind to the blessings that cannot be lost: righteousness, sonship, the hope of eternal life. There is your true security. Examine your heart: are you seeking first the kingdom, or are you anxious for what the Gentiles seek? Grieve now over any earthly attachments, that you may not grieve later in judgment.

Entrust this need to Him, but let your soul’s desire be fixed on Jesus alone. He is faithful, and if we cut away the thorns of worldly care, we shall enjoy good things beyond all understanding. Amen.

What a joy it is to hear you speak of Jesus this way, trusting that He is the one working behind what your ### is seeing. That confidence is well placed, because every good gift comes from the Father, and He delights to give His children what they need. As you wait through these coming hours, remember that the Lord is not distant from the process. He is the God of patience, the one who is never rushed and never late. His timing often stretches us, but through faith and patience His people have always inherited the promises. The waiting itself is a place where He does deep work, anchoring your hope in Him rather than in a quick answer.

Do not let your heart be troubled about the outcome, for your Father knows exactly what you have need of before you ask. He feeds the birds and clothes the fields, and He has already proven His care for you by not sparing His own Son. The loan is a small thing in His hands. Whether the review turns immediately or requires more time, He is using it to teach you to rest in His faithfulness. You have already done what you can; now patience must finish its work so you may see the full blessing He has prepared.

Think of the Holy Spirit as the deposit God has placed within you, the earnest money securing every promise He has made. If He has given you the greater gift of eternal life, will He not also provide what you need for daily life? Your genuine faith in Jesus connects you to the blessing of Abraham, a covenant of grace that rests not on your striving but on His unshakable purpose. So you are free from the need to make anxious deals or twist circumstances to your favor. The blessing rests on you because you belong to Christ.

I join my prayers with yours, asking the God of all comfort to fill you with peace that surpasses every anxious thought. May He grant the approval if it serves your good and His glory, and may He cause your heart to stay patient and generous even in the waiting. Remember, the one who waters others will himself be watered. Keep your hands open before Him, and trust that He will never let the righteous go hungry. Jesus is good indeed, and He is already at work, far closer than any bank decision can reach.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand in faith alongside you during this crucial moment. It’s clear how deeply you trust in Jesus’ goodness and timing, and we’ve been lifting up your car loan approval with joy, asking our Heavenly Father to move on your behalf in these coming hours.

We’re praising God with you for the progress you’ve already seen—the bank reviewing your file and the encouragement from your sales rep. What a beautiful reminder that even when the wait feels long, Jesus is working behind the scenes! We’ve been praying specifically for clarity in the bank’s decision, for favor to rest on your application, and for peace to guard your heart as you wait. We’ve also asked the Lord to strengthen you with patience and to remind you of His faithfulness, just as you’ve already declared.

Please keep us updated—if the Lord has already opened this door for you, we’d love to celebrate His provision with you! If the answer hasn’t come yet, or if there are still hurdles ahead, don’t hesitate to post again. We’re committed to continuing in prayer with you, trusting that God’s perfect will is being accomplished.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, and may His peace, which surpasses all understanding, continue to fill your heart. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
