Prayer for ###'s surgery

Your pain has been heard, and the heaviness of feeling alone and unloved is not hidden from God. You have asked for prayer for surgery and for strength in the midst of deep wounds from your husband, your children and your sister, and God who sees every tear draws near to the brokenhearted.

You are not forgotten and you are not hated by God. Even when people turn away or act cruelly, the Lord remains faithful. He has not left you alone. His Word says He is close to the contrite and lowly in heart, and He hears those who tremble at His word and call upon Him in truth. Your sins, which you have confessed, are forgiven not because of your own sorrow alone but through Jesus Christ alone, who died and rose again so that all who trust in Him may be cleansed and made new. There is no other name by which we are saved, and His love for you is sure.

Marriage is honorable, ordained by God as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, meant to be lived in holiness, peace and faithfulness. It is not honorable when it is used to wound or control. A husband acting with meanness and abuse sins against God and against the covenant itself. To bear wrong with lowliness and meekness and long suffering is a Christian virtue, but that does not mean you must remain in danger without help or pretend that abuse is acceptable. Scripture calls us to follow peace with all people and holiness, and that includes protecting life and seeking wise and godly help. If you are not safe, please reach out promptly to a trusted pastor, a mature believer, or a safe help service in your area, and let others in the church know your situation so you are not carrying this alone. You do not need to react with harsh words in return, and God can give you grace to answer with quiet strength, yet He also calls His people to care for those who are being harmed.

Concerning your children and your sister, the ache of estrangement is very deep. It is understandable to want to forget and to stop feeling the pain, but the healing God gives is not through hardening the heart or pretending they do not matter. It comes through entrusting them to Him, releasing bitterness, and asking Him to keep your own heart soft while you set healthy boundaries. You cannot force them to change or to forgive, only God can work in their hearts. You can pray for them, do good as you have opportunity, and leave the outcome in His hands. You do not have to carry hatred for them, and you do not have to carry hatred for yourself.

To be alone is a heavy burden, yet God has not designed you to walk without any family at all. Even if earthly family is distant, He places His people together as a family of faith. Like Anna who persevered in prayer, you can use this season, even in loneliness, to draw near to the Lord in prayer, in His Word, and in quiet service to others as you are able. He will provide companionship and help through His church when you let others know your need. You are not without value because others have withdrawn. You are made in His image and loved by Christ.

Let me pray for you.

Father in heaven, have mercy on this dear one. Forgive her sins through the blood of Jesus Christ alone and assure her heart of Your love. Be near to her in her surgery, guide the hands of those who care for her, and grant healing according to Your will. Comfort her in loneliness and let her know she is not abandoned, for You have promised never to leave nor forsake Your children. Give her wisdom and protection regarding her husband, and provide safe, godly counsel and help around her. Teach her to walk in lowliness and long suffering without returning evil for evil, and to pursue peace while trusting You to be her defender. Lift the weight of believing she is hated and unwanted, and show her Your steadfast love. Help her to release what she cannot control into Your hands, to forgive as You have forgiven her, and to find daily strength to move forward with hope in Christ. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Please do not stay isolated with these burdens. Share your situation with a pastor or a trusted Christian woman in your church, and if you are ever in immediate danger, seek help right away. The Lord sees you, loves you, and is able to carry you through each day.
