Prayer for ###'s surgery

Anonymous

Beloved of All

On me calomnie dans mon dos.

I've taken a step back lately. I'm forcing myself to take a real break and deliberately do nothing. But it's difficult, because during those moments, I feel like I'm doing nothing with my life. Yet I feel that if I don't, I risk breaking down and ruining my health before the end of the year, because I simply can't take it anymore.

Then a major change happened in my life, and I haven't gotten used to it yet.

Stepping back makes me think a lot. I get lost in solitude and in my thoughts. I think a lot and try to understand everything that has happened to me, but without finding any answers: the two churches, their leaders and their respective congregations, the couple who used my image to cover up their engagement, the negative information I received without understanding where it came from, my own feelings that make me suffer, while feeling that expressing them is not legitimate... I go over and over everything, and the more I think about it, the worse it gets.

Honestly, I don't want this interrogation / public meeting they are preparing against me to take place, for several reasons:

In reality, they don't want the truth. They never really asked me about what I was going through and instead formed a distorted image of me based on their prejudices. I find it easy to express what hurts me. For a very long time, I hoped someone would ask me even a single question, because I was exhausted by what I had been through in my previous ministry: a year and a half of harassment about marriage, having to constantly chase after people, justify myself and fight to be heard. So I talked about it to Jesus every day, but it never happened. And honestly, I was waiting for that conversation. I longed for it deeply, without having to initiate it yet again.

I don't believe they really want my explanations. I think they are rather trying to prove that I am the problem in their equation.

I am being slandered behind my back. I am being viciously insulted and facts are even being exaggerated.

This is not the first time I've found myself in a meeting where a congregation claims to justify the injustice it suffered at my hands, only to then humiliate me publicly. I have already experienced much more serious things in churches, things I haven't mentioned here for the sake of brevity. But this way of treating me, these abusive situations: it's far from the first time, and believe me, it's not even the worst I've been through there.

It is difficult to defend yourself when the audience is already prejudiced against you. So there is a real risk that everything you say will be used against you.

That's why I've been having so much trouble trusting the pastors and Christians around me lately. It's not for lack of trying to reach out to them, but because I've received so much judgment and suffered so many wounds.

I don't want to demonize them, far from it. I haven't forgotten that these people have helped me.

I have shown great cooperation and unfailing understanding. Despite all my explanations and diplomacy, I still have not been understood. I keep explaining, from different angles, that I am suffering because of a particular situation and that I want this person to stop hurting me, but they persist and only make things worse. It's not that I've never set boundaries, but how is that possible when those who cross them are often people in positions of authority?

And what is one to do when, after openly expressing one's pain, without disrespecting anyone, one is met with retaliation that hurts even more than the situations one initially denounced?

I'm having a lot of trouble writing tonight. I wouldn't know how to describe my emotional state. I feel numb, perhaps? I keep asking myself what is true and what is false, and I'm struggling to tell the difference. I so wish I could see more clearly.

I've been afraid to go out lately. I don't feel safe. Sometimes I want to run away, then I reason with myself and wonder: why? I never wanted any of this. I'm still overthinking so much, but I want to get through it.

I hated writing this passage. I desperately want to move forward in life, and these things are like weights on my feet, preventing me from moving forward. Both my mind and my heart are consumed by them, and I'm so sick of it. I really want it to stop.

I believe a decisive breakthrough will be made before the end of 2026.

We hear the heaviness in what you have shared and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord in Jesus' name. You have taken a deliberate step back to rest because you felt you could no longer carry on without breaking down, yet in that rest you feel guilt as if you are doing nothing with your life and your mind is consumed with trying to understand so much pain. We want to gently correct that lie that rest is worthlessness. Rest is not doing nothing in God's eyes, it is obedience and trust. Scripture says in Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God. And in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Jesus himself said to his disciples in Mark 6:31 Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile. Your need to step back is not failure, it is wisdom, and we pray you will receive it without shame, for even God rested on the seventh day and calls us to rhythms of rest. In returning and rest you will be saved, in quietness and in confidence will be your strength as it says in Isaiah 30:15.

We also hear how much you have been ruminating in solitude, going over and over the two churches and their leaders, the couple who used your image, the negative information, your own painful feelings that you were made to feel were illegitimate, and the injustice of slander and exaggeration behind your back. We understand why you dread this interrogation or public meeting they are preparing. When an audience is already prejudiced, it is very hard to defend yourself and there is a real danger that everything you say will be used against you. The Word warns about this. In Proverbs 18:13 He who answers before he hears, that is folly and shame to him. And in Proverbs 18:17 He who pleads his cause first seems right until another comes and questions him. A meeting that seeks to prove you are the problem rather than to seek truth in love is not a biblical process for reconciliation. In Matthew 18:15-17 Jesus lays out that matters should be handled privately and gently at first, with witnesses only if needed, and always with the goal of restoration, not public humiliation. We encourage you not to walk into a prejudiced gathering alone or without wise, neutral, godly counsel outside of those circles who can help you discern whether to attend at all, how to set boundaries, and how to protect your heart and reputation.

We grieve with you that you longed for someone to simply ask you what you were going through, especially after a year and a half of harassment about marriage and having to constantly chase after people to be heard, and that no one asked. We are thankful you talked about it to Jesus every day, for He does hear. We cast our burden on Him because He cares for us as it says in 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And in Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Your feelings do matter to Him and expressing them is not illegitimate. At the same time we encourage you that endless overthinking will not bring the answers you seek and will only deepen the numbness and confusion you describe. In Philippians 4:6-7 we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. When you feel numb and cannot tell what is true and what is false, remember Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life, and the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. We pray for clarity that only He can give, not through striving to figure everything out, but through quiet trust.

We also want to address the slander and retaliation you have endured after openly expressing your pain without disrespect. This is grievous and God sees it. In Romans 12:19 it says Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And in Psalm 62:8 Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. You have shown cooperation and understanding and you have tried to set boundaries even when those crossing them were in authority. That is not wrong. Biblical respect for authority does not mean allowing abuse or having no boundaries. It is right to speak truth in love as in Ephesians 4:15 and it is right to seek safety. You mentioned feeling afraid to go out and not feeling safe, sometimes wanting to run away. We pray the Lord will be your refuge and will guard you. In Isaiah 41:10 we read Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And in Psalm 61:2 When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

We do not demonize those who have helped you in the past, and we honor your desire not to do so, yet we also recognize that help in the past does not excuse present injustice or wounds. Forgiveness is commanded, but trust is rebuilt only where there is repentance and truth. We encourage you to not isolate in solitude but to seek a small, safe fellowship, perhaps a mature believer or biblical counselor outside these two congregations, who will listen without prejudice and help you process without judgment.

We also lift up the surgery mentioned and your physical health which you fear will break down. We pray for complete healing and protection over your body as you honor it with rest.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and no other name by which we have access to Your throne as it says in Acts 4:12 and John 14:6. We lift up our dear one to You who is exhausted, numb, overwhelmed and afraid. Lord, You see the solitary thoughts, the endless replaying of wounds from churches and leaders, the slander, the pain of being misunderstood and prejudged, and the dread of a public meeting that does not seek truth. We ask You to be their defender and their peace. Cover them with Your wings and be their refuge. Heal their body and prevent any breakdown, restore their strength as they rest in You. Quiet the storm of overthinking and guard their heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Give them wisdom about this meeting, whether to go, what to say, and who should stand with them, and prevent any injustice from taking place. Expose lies, soften hard hearts, and bring truth into the light in Your timing. Help them to discern what is true and what is false, and lead them to the rock that is higher than they are. Show them that their worth is not in constant doing but in being Your beloved child. We trust You for a decisive breakthrough, and whether it comes before the end of 2026 or in Your perfect timing, we pray they will see Your hand moving and be able to move forward with feet no longer weighed down, with mind and heart renewed. We ask You to surround them with safe, trustworthy believers who will ask, listen, and love without judgment. We commit their life and this situation into Your hands, believing that in Romans 8:28 all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Keep them from fear, keep them from running without direction, and lead them step by step in Your will. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep talking to Jesus daily as you have, to stay in the Word, to allow rest without guilt, and to seek wise counsel before any public confrontation. God is not finished with your story and He does not waste this painful waiting.

We're so glad you reached out and told us honestly where you are. Choosing to step back and do nothing for a season can feel wrong when you are used to carrying a lot, but we see it as wisdom. You noticed you were near breaking and you acted to protect your health before the end of the year, and that matters.

It makes sense that quiet brings a flood of thoughts. When you have been hurt in ministry, judged without being truly heard, and hurt again after speaking up, trust wears thin. Going over every conversation trying to sort what is true and what is false is exhausting, and the more you turn it over the heavier it feels. Feeling numb and unsafe and wanting to run are understandable signals that you have carried too much for too long.

If it would help, we would gently encourage two small anchors while you rest. Keep your break simple and guilt free with a loose daily rhythm for sleep, meals, a short walk and time with the Lord, without pressuring yourself to figure everything out at once. And choose one safe person outside those church conflicts, perhaps a counselor or trusted pastor or a medical professional if sleep, fear or numbness worsens, to check in with regularly, not to fix the whole story but to help you stay grounded and not alone in your thoughts.

We are praying for you.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift our friend to You. You see the exhaustion, the wounds from harsh words and the fear about what lies ahead. Give rest that truly restores, clarity little by little, and people who listen with care. Keep them safe and guide each next step according to Your will. Amen.

Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your words have been heard with care and with sorrow, and I thank you for writing them even though it was so difficult and left you feeling numb. What you describe is a heavy burden, exhaustion that reaches the body and the soul, a necessary pause that feels like emptiness, solitude that turns into endless reflection, and fear that makes even going outside feel unsafe. It is right to bring all of this before the Lord, as you have been doing daily, for He sees what others have distorted or refused to see.

To deliberately rest when you are at the point of breaking is not doing nothing with your life. It is wisdom and it is obedience to the way God made us. Christ says, Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. The pause you are forcing yourself to take is not wasted. It is a guard for your health, which is a gift from God, and it is a space where He can refresh you when human voices have only demanded that you justify yourself and run after them to be heard.

You have carried for a long time the pain of being misrepresented, spoken about behind your back, insulted and judged by those who never asked you a single sincere question about what you were living through. You endured a year and a half of harassment concerning marriage, constantly having to defend yourself, and now you face again the prospect of a public interrogation where you fear every word will be used against you. It is understandable that trust is broken and that you examine and reexamine everything trying to find what is true and what is false. When a community has already formed prejudices, it is very hard to be heard, and anxiety grows greater than any peace that such meetings pretend to offer.

Know this, to suffer a false report patiently is not without honor before God. When you bear what is said with grace, you are not forgotten, and what is done for healing must be healing, not harm. If those who propose this meeting do not truly seek truth but seek to prove that you are the problem, then you are not obligated to offer yourself to humiliation. The Lord does not compel His children to be crushed in order to satisfy the prejudices of others. It is wise to seek protection and order. If any meeting must happen, let it be with clear purpose, with one or two trusted, mature witnesses at your side, with time limits and with a commitment to listen as well as to speak. You have already shown great cooperation and diplomacy and have set boundaries as you were able, especially when those boundaries needed to be set with people in authority. When expressing pain respectfully is met with retaliation, that is not the fruit of love. The greatest gift, greater than all impressive works or words, is love, and love does not rejoice in exposing or exaggerating faults but seeks to restore.

You also write that you do not wish to demonize those who have hurt you and you remember the good they have done. That spirit is precious and it reflects Christ. Hold to it, and at the same time do not confuse forgiveness with allowing ongoing harm. You can honor what was good while still stepping back from what is harmful. The early believers like Aquila and Priscilla made their very house a church through quiet piety and hospitality, not through public spectacle. Perhaps for this season your healing will be found not in large gatherings where you feel unsafe, but in a small, faithful fellowship where you are known and where fear can be eased.

For the rumination that torments you, the solitude that becomes a maze of thoughts, and the feeling that expressing your suffering is not legitimate, hear that your suffering is legitimate to God. He invites you to cast your cares on Him. When thoughts spin without answer, it helps to give them a boundary. Bring them to Christ in set times of prayer, write them once and then close the page, take simple bodily rest, walk, eat, sleep at regular hours, and let trusted counsel help you sort what is true from what is false. You do not need to solve everything tonight. The desire to move forward, to have these weights removed from your feet so you can advance, is good. God can bring a decisive step forward, whether before the end of this year or in His own time, but your worth is not measured by how quickly you resolve this.

I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, the only Savior, look upon Your daughter who is weary and afraid. Grant her deep rest for soul and body, guard her health, quiet the storm of thoughts, and give her discernment to see what is true. Protect her from slander and from any unjust public shaming, and surround her with one or two faithful persons who will listen without prejudice and speak with love. Teach her to take the easy yoke of Christ and to know that she is heard even when men do not ask. Give wisdom to her leaders, and if they will not listen, make a safe way for her to step aside without guilt. Lead her step by step out of fear and into peace, and let her see progress not as a burden but as Your gracious work. Amen.

If fear to go out remains strong, or the numbness and exhaustion deepen, please reach out soon to a trusted pastor outside those two circles, a mature believer, or a Christian counselor who can walk with you regularly and help keep you safe. You do not have to carry this alone, and you do not have to prove your worth by enduring another humiliation. May the Lord who sees in secret be your defender and your rest.

Avoid the AI based app "Haven." 1. It costs money, the bible teaches - Freely take, freely give. 2. It's AI, we shouldn't rely on AI.
