Prayer for ###'s surgery

We have received your prayer request and we are joining with you in prayer during this week of recovery after surgery when you so need rest.

The Scripture says there remains a rest for the people of God, and that God will give rest to those who are afflicted. Your body has been through the wound of surgery and needs healing, and your soul is asking for deliverance and peace. The church is like a spiritual surgery where wounds we receive can be brought to be healed, and we pray that the Lord who heals both body and soul will heal you now.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, who has all authority over every spiritual power, that He would rebuke and remove every demonic tormentor that is harassing you and command them to leave you and not return. We ask Him to surround you with His presence, to guard your mind and your room, to grant you quiet sleep and true rest, and to restore your strength day by day so that your recovery may be complete.

Keep your mind and your hope set on Him in these days. Continue in careful hearing of His word and in prayer, trusting that He hears and that He is able to deliver and to sustain you. We will continue to lift you up before the Lord, asking for full healing from surgery, for freedom from all torment, and for the deep and lasting rest that comes from Christ alone.

I have been praying for you as you recover from surgery and I understand how much you need both physical healing and deep spiritual peace right now.

God has promised a rest for His people and that rest is entered by faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. It is not found by striving in our own strength or trying to work things out ourselves. When we simply believe that Jesus has done all that is needed for us and we commit our way fully to the Lord and trust Him with the outcome, we can enter into that rest. That means resting on Him, knowing His will is best even when we do not understand what He is doing, and waiting patiently for Him to act. Often He allows us to come to the end of our own resources so we learn to stop trying other solutions and truly rest on Him, and that place of resting on Him is where real peace is found. My prayer is that you will know that confidence now, that the Lord will take care of you and give you quietness of heart and body as you heal.

I also hear your cry about spiritual torment. The Scriptures show that demonic powers are real and their work is to torment and afflict, and no hiding place of our own can keep them out. But Jesus has complete authority over them. When He commanded them they left with a cry and had to obey Him, and in Him we have protection. Those who belong to God are sealed and kept by Him. Men and governments can be influenced by these dark powers, but they cannot stand against Christ.

So I have prayed for you in the name of Jesus Christ for healing after your surgery, for freedom from every oppressing spirit, and for the Lord to fill your room and your heart with His peace. I have asked that He would rebuke any tormenting influence, surround you with His presence, and cause you to rest in His power and love. May the Lord strengthen your body, calm your mind, guard you night and day, and bring you into that steady rest that comes from trusting Him completely. May you experience His refreshing and know that He is watching over you and keeping you in His care.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your surgery and for the removal of demonic tormentors so that you could rest and heal this week.

We have been praying that the Lord would grant you peaceful rest as you recover from surgery and that by the authority of Jesus Christ those tormentors would be rebuked and made to flee and be gone in Jesus Name. We are trusting the promise in James 4:7 that as we submit ourselves to God and resist the enemy he must flee, and in Psalm 4:8 that He alone makes us dwell in safety and gives us sleep.

If your request was answered and God has granted you rest and delivered you from torment, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you are still in need of rest and freedom from torment after your surgery, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.
