Prayer for ###'s surgery

We join with you in prayer for your recovery from surgery and for deliverance and true rest this week in Jesus name. We know how vulnerable the body and spirit can feel after surgery, and we thank God that He sees your need for healing and for peaceful rest and that He is mighty to deliver you.
We take seriously your request about demonic tormentors, for scripture is clear that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Yet we also rejoice that Jesus has given us authority over all the power of the enemy Luke 10:19 and that when we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil he will flee from us James 4:7. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and discipline 2 Timothy 1:7, and we can come boldly to His throne for mercy and help.
We also pray for your body, for the Lord is the one who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3. He invites those who are weary to come to Him for rest Matthew 11:28 and promises that we will both lay ourselves down and sleep in peace for you alone Lord make us live in safety Psalm 4:8. He says fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, yes I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.
We pray together now. Father in heaven we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only access to you and our only Savior, and we lift up our dear one to you who has just had surgery. Lord we ask for your healing hand upon this body, that you would touch every incision and every tissue and bring complete restoration and freedom from pain and infection and complication according to your will. Grant deep, uninterrupted, peaceful sleep and rest this week. We ask that you command your angels to encamp around this home Psalm 91:11 and to keep watch. In the name of Jesus Christ we rebuke and bind every demonic tormentor and every spirit of fear, oppression and unrest, and we command them to leave and to go where Jesus sends them and not return. We declare that no weapon formed against your child shall prosper and that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Fill this room with your holy presence, with worship and with your Word, and let your peace reign. Help our loved one to fix their mind on you and on your promises and to resist the enemy by faith, steadfast and clothed in the armor of God. We thank you that you are our healer, our deliverer and our rest.
We encourage you to rest as your body needs, to follow your medical care, and to keep your heart and home filled with scripture, prayer and worship music through the day and night. Speak the name of Jesus aloud when fear or torment comes, quote scripture such as James 4:7 and 2 Timothy 1:7, and do not hesitate to invite a trusted pastor or mature Christian believer to pray with you in person and to stand with you. If torment persists, continue to bring it to the Lord and to the body of Christ for support. We trust that God who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it and to give you the rest and healing you need this week.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Your request has been laid before the Lord in this tender week following surgery, when the body is weak and rest is so needful, and we join you in seeking His deliverance and healing in the name of Jesus Christ.
We pray that the Lord who says, Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest, would grant you now that present rest, not rest after a time only, but rest given there and then as a gift from His dear hands who purchased it with a price. There is a rest given when we come to Jesus, and there is a rest found as we learn of Him, a deep rest and an abiding rest for the soul. May your mind be kept like the mind of Christ, and may you find that repose which belongs to those who have believed, for we who have believed do enter into rest. Trust and you shall rest.
We pray also for your healing, for the Sun of Righteousness to rise with healing in His wings upon you. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing virtue to change the life and make the nature whole. As He has borne our sickness and forgiven our sin, pardon and healing are one in His hand, and we ask Him to make your recovery effectual and to quiet your body for needful sleep and restoration.
And concerning the tormentors that assail you, we pray for the divine buckler which God has provided for His church against the fiery darts. That dark thought which stirs the soul until there is not one corner of the heart in which there is peace is stamped with the name of its maker, and it is to be warded off by resting in the faithfulness of God. We ask the Lord, who alone works deliverance with His hand and outstretched arm, to bring you forth as He brought Israel forth when the lamb was slain, for He has found a ransom. The prisoner ready to go down to the pit is delivered because the King's own Son has borne the penalty, and when God Himself proclaims, I have found a ransom, then deliverance is certain and already accomplished.
May you be enabled to say with David, My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from Him, and may you prove Him your deliverer. May the Lord rebuke every evil influence and grant you peace within your borders, that your home and your bed may be a place of rest where God your Saviour reigns, and that the cares of this week may not stray to worry you.
We commend you to Him who gives rest to the weary and healing to the wounded, praying that you may know His perfect rest even while you labour under weakness, and look forward to that perfect rest which remaineth for the people of God. May the Lord keep you, heal you, and cause you to dwell in quietness under His wings. Amen.
