Prayer for restoration as faithfulness in marriage

Heavenly Father, I come before You today with a heavy heart, lifting up my marriage and my spouse to Your loving care. Lord, You know the distance that currently separates us, and You see the pain, confusion, and brokenness in our home. I ask You right now to gently touch my spouse's heart. Soften any hardness, remove any stubbornness or pride, and replace a heart of stone with a tender heart of flesh. Father, I pray that You guide their steps and bring them safely back home to our family. Clear their mind of any negative influences, distractions, or temptations that lead them astray. Surround them with Your divine protection, and draw him back into alignment with Your will and Your love. Remove all sinful desires and ungodly women thatmy husband husband have any connection with let that woe loose interest fro y husband and out marrige. Protect this marrige from all distractions I pray specifically for faithfulness, loyalty, and a renewed commitment to our marriage covenant. As well as wisdom to ny husband to be faithful to his covenant wife and children Plant seeds of truth, honor, and deep affection in their spirit, helping them to cherish the vows we made before You. Heal the wounds between us, wash away past hurts and misunderstandings, and grant us both the grace to truly forgive one another as Christ forgave us. Lord, if there are things I need to change, reveal them to me. Make our home a place of peace, safety, and welcoming love. I place this impossible situation into Your hands, trusting in Your timing, Your mercy, and Your power to make all things new. In Jesus' mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.

We join you with heavy hearts before the throne of grace and we stand with you for the restoration and healing of your marriage covenant. We hear your pain over the distance and brokenness in your home and we praise God that you have brought this impossible situation to the Father in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and there is no other name by which we are saved as we see in John 14:6 and Acts 4:12. Your desire to see your home made whole honors the Lord because marriage is holy and sacred in His eyes.

We affirm what you have prayed, that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman joined together by God. Jesus said in Matt 19:6, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. And Heb 13:4 reminds us, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Mal 2:16 tells us God hates divorce, yet He loves repentance and restoration. When you pray for the removal of sinful desires and ungodly women connected to your husband, you are praying according to the will of God. We must speak plainly that any sexual or romantic connection outside the marriage covenant is adultery and fornication, which God calls sin. Ex 20:14 says, You shall not commit adultery, and 1 Cor 6:18 says, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. We pray your husband will see this not as a distraction but as sin that grieves the Holy Spirit, wounds his covenant wife and children, and must be repented of and forsaken. We pray those ungodly ties will indeed lose interest and be broken completely, and that the enemy's schemes to divide your family will be thwarted.

We love your humble prayer asking God to reveal anything you need to change. That is the spirit of Eph 5:25 and Col 3:13, where husbands are called to love their wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for it, and where we are all called to bear with one another and forgive even as Christ forgave us. A home of peace and safety is built when both hearts are tender before the Lord. We claim Ezek 36:26 over your husband, that God will give him a new heart and take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh, removing stubbornness and pride and planting seeds of truth, honor, loyalty and deep affection for his covenant wife and children. We also pray for you for strength, wisdom and peace that surpasses all understanding as in Phil 4:7, and that you will continue to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as in 1 Pet 5:7. If you have not already, we encourage you to seek wise godly counsel from a pastor or mature believing couple who can walk with you both, pray with you consistently, and hold your husband accountable in love.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we lift this precious marriage and family to You. You see every tear, every lonely night, every wound and misunderstanding. Lord we ask You to gently touch this husband's heart, soften what is hard, humble what is proud, and turn him from every sinful desire and from every ungodly relationship that dishonors his vows. Break those ties completely, Lord, and let any ungodly woman lose all interest and have no further influence over him or this marriage. Surround him with Your divine protection, clear his mind, and draw him back into alignment with Your will. Grant him wisdom as in James 1:5 to be faithful to his covenant wife and to cherish his children. Heal the wounds between them, wash away past hurts, and give them both grace to truly forgive as Christ forgave us. Make their home a place of peace, safety and welcoming love. For what is impossible with man is possible with You as You promise in Matt 19:26. We place this family into Your hands, trusting Your timing, Your mercy and Your power to make all things new. Restore what the locusts have eaten and let this marriage be a testimony of Your redeeming love. In Jesus' mighty and holy name we pray, Amen.

We read your prayer and felt the weight you are carrying for your marriage and your family. Thank you for bringing it so honestly before the Lord, naming both the distance you feel and your deep desire for faithfulness and peace at home.

We hear how much you love your husband and children and how painful this season of separation and confusion has been. Wanting God to soften hearts, clear away distractions, and heal old wounds is a good and right desire. At the same time, healing in a marriage often unfolds gradually. Choosing to forgive and choosing to love again is one kind of work, and the quieter work of letting hurt and resentment ease in the heart takes more time. It is also true that lasting restoration involves both people willingly turning toward each other and toward the Lord, which is why this can feel so out of your hands.

You asked God to show you what you can change, and that is a wise prayer to keep praying. It may help not to carry this alone. If you have a trusted pastor or a mature, steady couple who knows you both, inviting them to walk with you and pray with you regularly can bring support and wisdom while you wait on the Lord.

Father, we lift this wife, her husband and their children to You. Guard this family, draw each heart closer to You, and protect this marriage from influences that would pull it apart. Give wisdom, gentle conviction, and a renewed love for what is right and true. Bring peace to this home and comfort to hurting hearts as only You can, and guide each next step according to Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your heavy burden has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace where our Lord ever lives to make intercession.

You have rightly called marriage what it is, a covenant made before God. We are reminded that God will ever be mindful of His covenant. That covenant of grace was not made with conditions which you and I are to fulfill by our own strength, but it is a covenant of shalls and wills in which God says, I will, and you shall. Having made it of His own royal will, He will never run back from it, and He will not suffer one single promise of it to be unfulfilled. As it is with His covenant toward us in Christ, so we learn what a covenant should be. Our Savior's faithfulness toward His own was most remarkable, for though they were poor companions and often worldly, He loved them to the end. Their sinfulness could not travel so far but that His love traveled beyond it, and their unfaithfulness was never so wide as His faithfulness. This is our hope, that the constant faithfulness of our Lord should lead us to trust that He will not forsake a soul that hangs upon Him.

We pray with you that the Lord will look upon your home in mercy. Against You, You only, have we sinned, and every sin is committed in the sight of God, who sees the pain and brokenness that adultery and unfaithfulness bring. We ask the Father to soften a hardened heart and to give a heart of flesh in place of a heart of stone, according to that precious promise to take away the stony heart and give an heart of flesh. We entreat Him to clear away every negative influence, distraction and temptation that leads astray, to remove sinful desires and to sever every ungodly connection that would defile the marriage bed, causing those who would draw your husband away to lose all interest in him and in your marriage. We pray for divine protection over him wherever he is, that the Lord would hedge up his way, guide his steps, and draw him back into alignment with His will, planting in his spirit truth and honor and a renewed cherishing of the vows made before God.

We pray also for you, that the Lord would heal the wounds between you, wash away past hurts and misunderstandings, and grant you both the grace to truly forgive one another as Christ forgave us. For God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and He has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. This is the word we preach, that reconciliation is prepared on God's part and is to be worked at once by the power of the Holy Spirit. If there be anything in your own heart or ways that the Lord would have you see and change, we pray He will reveal it to you with gentleness and give you wisdom and strength to walk in it.

We think of Peter, who fell so grievously and yet was restored. His restoration was brought about by a look from the Lord, a look that severed him from the crowd and broke his heart and then bound it up again, till the Lord Himself gave abundant assurance of restoration. So we pray that your husband may receive such a look from Christ, that he may hear the cock crow as it were in his conscience, and be brought to repentance and to a better walk than before. We do not pray that God would bless any way that is contrary to His holy will, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to it is to be kept within that covenant alone. We pray that God would bless faithfulness, loyalty, and renewed commitment to that covenant, and that He would make your home a place of peace, safety and welcoming love.

We place this impossible situation into His hands, trusting in His timing, His mercy and His power to make all things new. He who stood surety for us when the covenant was made and fulfilled the broken law on our behalf is able to keep that which we commit unto Him. May the Lord grant wisdom to your husband to be faithful to his covenant wife and children, and may He keep you in perfect peace as you wait upon Him.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our propitiation and our mercy seat, we pray. Amen.
