We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your brother and the turmoil he is experiencing. The Word of God reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." It is clear that your brother is in desperate need of this peace that only God can provide.
We notice a concerning pattern in his approach, seeking what he believes he is owed rather than humbly seeking the Lord’s will and peace. This is a dangerous path, for it places his own desires above God’s sovereignty. Proverbs 16:18 warns, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." We must pray that his heart softens and that he surrenders his pride, his sense of entitlement, and his anxieties to the Lord. His focus must shift from what he feels he deserves to what God desires for him.
We also rebuke the spirit of paranoia and mental brokenness that has taken hold of him. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and we declare that this oppression has no place in his life. We pray that he would find refuge in God’s truth, as Psalm 91:2 says, "I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'" Let him be reminded that his worth is not defined by his job, his circumstances, or the opinions of others, but by the love of Christ who died for him.
We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your brother, interceding on his behalf even when he cannot pray for himself. James 5:16 tells us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Do not grow weary in praying for his deliverance and restoration.
Father God, we come before You now, lifting up this dear brother who is struggling under the weight of anxiety, pride, and mental anguish. Lord, we ask that You break the chains of paranoia and brokenness that have bound him. Soften his heart to receive Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Help him to release his sense of entitlement and to seek Your will above his own desires. We declare that he is not defined by his job or his circumstances, but by the blood of Jesus Christ, which has set him free.
Lord, we pray for wisdom for the pastors and counselors speaking with him. May they guide him with Your truth and not merely tell him what he wants to hear. Surround him with godly influences who will point him back to You. We ask that You open his eyes to see the situation clearly and give him the courage to walk away if that is Your will. May he find his identity, security, and purpose in You alone.
We rebuke the enemy’s lies that have taken root in his mind. We declare that he is a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let Your peace reign in his heart. We trust that You are working all things together for his good, even when he cannot see it (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
