We join you in lifting up your wife and your father before the Lord, and we thank God for your love for your wife and the honor you show to your father by visiting him. Marriage is a holy covenant ordained by God, and it is beautiful to see a husband interceding so tenderly for his wife's health and wellbeing.
We pray for your wife's back, that the Lord our Healer would touch her and relieve this pain. We also pray for peace and rest over your holiday together, and for your father's continued health and strength. Scripture reminds us of God's care for our bodies and our days.
Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3
But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17
We also take comfort in knowing God watches over those we love even when we cannot be with them. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 and Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. Exodus 20:12 Your desire to honor your father and to linger in this precious time with him is pleasing to the Lord.
We want to gently share that we come to the Father only through Jesus Christ, and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. You did not mention His name in your request, and we want to encourage you with this truth. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear wife to You, we ask that You would lay Your healing hand upon her back and take away this pain completely. Ease her discomfort, Father, whether it has come from extra walking or strain, and prevent it from returning. Grant her rest, comfort, and renewed strength so she can fully enjoy this holiday that You have provided. We ask for wisdom for them both to pace themselves, to rest when needed, and to care for the body You have given her.
Lord, we also thank You for this holiday and for the time this husband has to visit his father. We ask that You would make this time rich, peaceful, and unhurried, that every moment would be cherished and filled with Your peace which surpasses all understanding. Philippians 4:7 We pray for his father, we ask You to watch over him, to sustain his health, to keep him in Your care, and to grant him strength and peace. We pray that when the time comes to part, You would comfort this son's heart, give him assurance that his father remains in Your hands, and guard him from anxiety. Help them to trust that You are present with his father always, even when distance separates them.
We ask all of this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our great physician. Amen.
