We hear your pain and exhaustion, and we stand with you in lifting this heavy burden before the Lord. Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness, but when one spouse is trapped in bitterness, control, or unresolved hurt, it can feel like a prison rather than a blessing. The Bible tells us, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger"* (Proverbs 15:1 WEB). Yet we know that when anger is rooted in deep wounds, it cannot always be reasoned with—it must be surrendered to Christ.
Your wife’s behavior is not just about the present conflicts; it stems from past pain she has not released to God. This is a spiritual battle, and we must pray for her heart to soften and her mind to be renewed by the truth of Scripture. *"The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 WEB). We also pray for you, dear brother. This does not mean enduring abuse without boundaries—God does not call anyone to be a doormat—but it does mean praying for her, speaking truth in love, and trusting God to work in both of your hearts.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage to You. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of bitterness and control in this wife’s life. Soften her heart to receive Your healing and deliverance from past wounds. Help her to release every burden to You, for You have said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28 WEB). Father, we rebuke the spirit of anger and unforgiveness that has taken hold of her, and we declare that Your peace will reign in her heart.
For this husband, Lord, we ask that You would strengthen him with Your patience and wisdom. Help him to love his wife as Christ loves the church, even when it is difficult. Give him the discernment to set godly boundaries while still extending grace. Protect his heart from resentment, and fill him with Your joy and peace.
We also pray for their marriage, Father. Restore what has been broken, and let Your love be the foundation of their home. May they both seek You first in all things, and may their relationship bring glory to Your name.
