Prayer for my ###

My son (Brent) texted that he “might be kicked out” of his apartment due to his dog damaging the entry door. He gets low-cost housing and I help him with expenses. I can’t afford for him to be kicked out. Please pray he gets to stay and for his salvation.

We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, and we join you in lifting up your son ### before the throne of grace. This situation weighs heavily on you, not only because of the practical concerns about his housing, but even more so because you long to see him walk in the salvation and peace that only Jesus can provide. We stand with you in prayer, trusting that the Lord hears the cries of a mother’s heart and is already at work in ways we cannot yet see.

First, let us bring ###’s immediate need before the Lord. Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* We pray that the Lord would soften the hearts of those in authority over ###’s housing situation. May they show mercy and grace, recognizing that this is an opportunity for them to reflect the love of Christ, even in their role as landlords or property managers. Father, we ask that You intervene in this situation and provide a way for ### to remain in his home, not because of what he deserves, but because of Your great mercy. If there are repairs to be made, we pray for provision and favor to cover those costs. If there are conversations to be had, we ask that You grant ### wisdom and humility to speak with those in charge, and that they would respond with understanding.

Yet even as we pray for this immediate need, our hearts are burdened for something far greater—###’s eternal soul. You have shared your deep desire to see him come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and we echo that longing. The Bible tells us in Ezekiel 33:11, *"As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live."* The Lord does not delight in the lostness of any soul, and He is pursuing ### even now. We pray that ### would feel the weight of his need for Christ, that his heart would be softened to the Holy Spirit’s conviction, and that he would turn to Jesus in repentance and faith. Lord, break through any hardness of heart, any distractions, or any lies the enemy has used to keep him from You. Let this season of uncertainty become a turning point in his life, where he encounters Your love and grace in a real and personal way.

We must also gently address the reality of ###’s situation in light of Scripture. While we do not know the full details of his life, we know that the Lord calls us to walk in wisdom and responsibility, especially as stewards of the blessings He provides. In Proverbs 21:20, we read, *"There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man swallows it up."* If ###’s actions—whether through neglect, lack of discipline with his dog, or other choices—have contributed to this crisis, we pray that he would recognize his need to grow in maturity and accountability. The Lord is faithful to discipline those He loves (Hebrews 12:6), and sometimes the challenges we face are His way of drawing us closer to Him and teaching us to depend on Him more fully.

We also lift up your role as his mother. It is clear that you love ### deeply and have sacrificed to support him, but we must ask the Lord to give you wisdom in how you engage with him moving forward. Galatians 6:2 tells us, *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ,"* but it also warns in verse 5, *"For each man will bear his own burden."* There is a balance between helping our loved ones and enabling patterns that keep them from growing in responsibility. We pray that the Lord would give you discernment to know when to step in, when to offer guidance, and when to allow ### to face the natural consequences of his choices—all while pointing him to Christ. Your love for him is a reflection of God’s love, but even the best intentions can sometimes hinder growth if they are not aligned with God’s purposes.

Let us now come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of concern for ### and his mother. Lord, You see the details of this situation far more clearly than we do, and You know the outcome that will bring the most glory to Your name. We ask that You would intervene in ###’s housing crisis, providing mercy, favor, and a resolution that allows him to stay in his home. Give him wisdom to handle this situation with humility and responsibility, and soften the hearts of those who have authority over him.

But Lord, above all else, we pray for ###’s salvation. We ask that You would open his eyes to see his need for You, that he would recognize the emptiness of life without Christ, and that he would turn to You in repentance and faith. Break any chains of complacency, distraction, or rebellion in his life, and draw him to Yourself with cords of love. Let this season of uncertainty become a turning point where he encounters Your grace in a powerful way.

Father, we also lift up ###’s mother to You. Give her strength, wisdom, and peace as she navigates this challenge. Help her to trust You with ###’s future, knowing that You love him even more than she does. Show her how to love him well, while also pointing him to You. Provide for her needs as she seeks to honor You in this situation.

Lord, we know that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). We trust You with ###’s life, his housing, and his eternal soul. May Your will be done in every aspect of this situation, and may Your name be glorified. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord for ###, not only in prayer but also in how you engage with him. Share your faith with him in love, pointing him to Jesus not just as a solution to his problems, but as the Savior of his soul. The Lord is faithful, and He is working even when we cannot see it. Trust in His timing and His perfect plan for ###’s life. And remember, you are not alone—we stand with you in this journey, believing that God will move in powerful ways.

Dear sister, we're right there with you, lifting up ### before our Heavenly Father. We've been praying for his immediate need, that the Lord would soften hearts and provide a way for him to stay in his home. We're also believing for a miracle in ###'s heart, that he would turn to Jesus and find the peace and salvation that only He can give.

We want to encourage you with these words from Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We know that ###'s situation is weighing heavily on your heart, but remember, the Lord sees him and He cares. He's already at work, even if we can't see it yet.

Let's continue to pray for ###, trusting that God is in control and that He has a purpose in all of this. And let's also pray for you, dear sister, that God would give you strength, wisdom, and peace as you navigate this challenge. We're here for you, standing with you in faith, believing that God will move in powerful ways. Keep trusting in Him, and let's keep seeking Him together for ###'s salvation and well-being. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
