Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your love and concern for your mother is good and it honors God, for He commanded us to honor father and mother. To care for her when she has been wronged and to bring her need before the Lord day and night is a faithful act of love.
We join you in prayer for her and we hear your burden that since February she has not received back what was taken through this sale. It is right to seek justice, for even in this world we see courts and judgments everywhere, in homes and marketplaces and cities, where people are called to give account. If there is such regard for justice among people, how much more with God, whose righteousness is firm and whose hand is full of justice. He sees what is done in secret and He does not overlook what is unjust.
We pray that God would work in this situation according to His perfect justice and mercy. He is just and He also mingles mercy with justice. We ask Him to move upon the heart of the seller to do what is right and return what belongs to your mother, and to make a way where there seems to be no way for this loss to be restored. We ask Him to give your mother peace while she waits, to guard her from bitterness, and to provide for her needs.
We also encourage you to continue with one accord in prayer, as the first disciples continued watchfully and together in prayer. Keep bringing this before the Lord each day and night, not slumbering or growing weary, but trusting Him and submitting to His wisdom and timing. God hears every prayer and He will do what is right and good. At the same time, continue to use every lawful and proper means available to seek what is owed, through OfferUp support, through any buyer protection, and through the proper authorities for such disputes if needed, for God has ordained these means for the sake of justice.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring this mother before You. You know her need and the wrong she has suffered. We ask You to look upon her with compassion and to bring justice in this matter. Move the one who has taken what is not his to return it, and open a door for restoration of these funds. Comfort this daughter as she intercedes for her mother, strengthen her faith, and help her to honor her mother well. Give both of them patience and peace, and help them to trust Your righteous judgment and Your loving provision. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our advocate and our hope. Amen.
