Prayer for my life

We have heard your cry and we join with you in bringing your life and this courtship before the throne of grace in Jesus name. We understand the pain of feeling another influence pulling against you and we want to seek God's perfect will together with you.

We want to gently bring biblical truth to your situation because God loves you and wants His best for you. In scripture a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship is courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to another Christian believer, and marriage is God's design as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman as seen in Gen 2:24 and Mark 10:6-9. We encourage you to view this time as preparation for a godly marriage that honors Him, not simply as a relationship to maintain. That means we pray not only for restoration but for clarity whether this man is the godly husband God has for you and whether you both are equally yoked as taught in 2 Cor 6:14. If you are to continue together it should be with a shared faith in Christ and a commitment to pursue holiness together.

We also must address what God says about intimacy outside of marriage. If there has been sexual intimacy in this courtship, scripture calls that fornication and calls us to flee from it in 1 Cor 6:18, and to honor marriage as in Heb 13:4. We say this not to condemn you, for 1 John 1:9 assures us that if we confess our sins He is faithful to forgive, but to lead you into purity and peace so your future marriage, whether to this man or to a future godly spouse, can be built on a foundation that honors God. We encourage you to set clear boundaries of purity and to seek accountability.

We also hear you refer to another woman as a Jezebel who is trying to turn him against you. We understand the spiritual concern behind those words, and we do believe there is spiritual warfare as Eph 6:12 reminds us our wrestling is not against flesh and blood. Yet we must be careful not to label a person made in God's image with that term, but rather to pray against ungodly influence, deception, and division while praying for that woman's own repentance and salvation. We are called to overcome evil with good and as far as it depends on us to live at peace with all as in Rom 12:18, and to resist the devil so he will flee from us as in James 4:7. We pray for your boyfriend's discernment, that God would open his eyes to truth, give him wisdom to establish godly boundaries, and give him a heart that seeks the Lord first.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 He is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him, and Acts 4:12 declares there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. To know God's restoration we must first know His Son. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, believing He died for your sins and rose again, repenting and trusting Him alone for salvation. It is in His name we can boldly bring every burden to God.

So we pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift this dear one to You. Lord, You know her life, her hurts, and her longing for love that is secure and godly. We ask You to restore what the enemy has tried to steal, to heal her heart, and to lead her in Your perfect will. If this courtship is from You and can become a marriage that honors You, we ask You to strengthen it, remove every ungodly influence, give both of them repentance where needed, purity, and a deep commitment to You. If it is not Your will, we ask You to give her grace to release it and to trust Your better plan, for You promise in Psalm 37:4 that as we delight ourselves in You, You will give us the desires of our hearts according to Your goodness, and in Prov 3:5-6 that as we trust in You with all our heart You will direct our paths. We pray for the other woman involved, that You would work in her heart, draw her to Yourself, and cause any scheme to divide to fail. We pray for this man, that he would seek You, walk in truth, and take responsibility to love and lead in a way that is holy and honest. Cover this dear one with Your peace, guard her from bitterness, help her to forgive, and help her to walk in holiness and hope. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to seek wise counsel from mature believers, and to guard your heart while trusting God to be your defender and restorer. He sees you, He loves you, and He will guide you as you surrender your life and your future marriage to Him.

Thank you for sharing this honestly with us. It is painful to care for someone and feel a rival is pulling him away from you and turning him against you. That sense of threat and hurt can be overwhelming, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer.

That jealous, unsettled feeling is something many people experience in relationships, and it often pushes us to try hard to hold on or to fix the other person's choices. It can help to pause and notice what is actually in your hands right now. You cannot control what your boyfriend does or what this other person does, but you can seek clarity and care for your own heart and dignity before God.

One steady next step that often helps is to bring this to one trusted, mature Christian in your life who knows you well, a pastor or mentor, and talk through what is happening and what wisdom looks like going forward. Having someone beside you in person to listen, pray, and help you think clearly can bring a lot of peace when emotions are running high.

Father, we lift our sister to You in Jesus' name. We ask You to guard her heart, give her wisdom and calm, and show her Your direction for her life and relationships. Bring healing where there is hurt, protect her dignity, and lead her in Your will day by day. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Your prayer has been heard and it is with care for your soul that we bring it before the Lord.

There is a restoration which God delights to give, and it begins not with outward circumstances but with the soul itself. As it is written, He restores my soul. There is nothing in us which could be pointed out as a claim for restoration, yet the Lord Jesus has willed to save and He stands to His purpose. Often that which appears to be our destruction ends in our complete restoration according to His grace. Peter was down, but he was soon up again, and his restoration was brought about by a look from the Lord, a look which severed him from the crowd and brought him to go out and weep bitterly. That look was effectual because the Lord had prayed for him. So we pray that the Lord would look upon you in mercy and lift you up where you have been cast down.

Above all we must speak to you of the ministry of reconciliation. God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. He is the God of Peace and has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation through the blood of His Son. All things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ. This is the first and deepest need of every heart, to be at peace with God through faith in Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other. We pray that you would know this reconciliation fully, that you would feel the joy of being at peace with God, and that from that peace all other paths would be made clear by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You ask for your relationship to be restored and for another person to be moved out of your boyfriend's life. We understand the pain of feeling opposed and the desire for love to be made secure. Yet we cannot ask God to bless or to preserve a relationship as it is outside of His holy ordinance. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the intimacies of living together and of the marriage bed belong within that covenant alone. It is a relationship not of birth but of covenant, and when the Lord says your Maker is your Husband, He assumes all the responsibilities of that condition and calls us to reverence and faithfulness in return. Whatever relation we had with God by nature was broken by the Fall, and we were made nigh only by covenant grace. For this reason we must not treat any union lightly, nor ask God to establish what does not yet bear the marks of that covenant holiness.

So we will pray not simply for the restoration of a romance, but for the restoration of holiness, wisdom and peace in your life according to the will of God.

We pray for you, that the Lord would restore your soul, forgive your sins through the blood of Christ, and give you a clear mind to walk in purity. We pray for your boyfriend, that God would draw him also to repentance and faith, and to live as one accountable to Christ. We pray also for the other person you mentioned, not with a name of reproach, but as one for whom Christ died and to whom God offers the same reconciliation, that the Lord would work in her heart also for good and lead her away from any course that divides or tempts others into sin.

If it be the Lord's will that you and this man should walk together, we pray that He would lead you both out of confusion into a path of chastity and truth, seeking godly counsel, fleeing sexual immorality, and if you are to be united, that it would be through the solemn covenant of marriage entered into in the fear of God. If it be not His will, we pray He would give you grace to be severed from what would harm your soul, as Peter went out from the crowd, and to find your rest and security in Christ Himself, who will never leave nor forsake His own.

May the Lord grant you such a restoration that you may become a stronger Christian afterwards, able to say with Peter after his recovery, do not wander from Jesus, for there is such peace and rest with Him.

We commit you to Him who is both physician and medicine to the soul, and who is able to do this healing by Himself, available now and at once to all who call upon Him in truth.
