We hear your heart and we join you in lifting up your daughter and your grandsons before our Father, and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and hope in every trouble. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.
We grieve with you over this injustice. What you describe, using anger and intimidation to force a mother and her children from a safe home for the sake of greed, is not from God. Scripture warns us, He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house Proverbs 15:27 and Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice Ephesians 4:31. The Lord sees the oppression of the vulnerable and He is a defender of those who feel powerless. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1 and A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation Psalm 68:5. Your daughter and grandsons are not forgotten or unseen by Him.
We also understand your own pain, feeling you cannot help financially and watching your daughter cry all the time. God collects every tear. You put my tears into your bottle Psalm 56:8 and He is close to the brokenhearted. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. You said this is your last hope, but we want to encourage you that Jesus is not our last hope, He is our first and living hope, and He hears you even now.
The heart of those who hold power in this situation is not beyond the reach of God. The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1. We will pray that God softens the hearts of these ex in-laws, convicts them of selfishness, and turns them from hardness and greed toward mercy and fairness.
We pray together for your daughter, your grandsons, and even for those who are acting against them.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear daughter and her sons to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see where they live, You see the love they have for their home and the safety they feel there, and You see the fear and sorrow of being pressured to move to a place that is not safe. We ask You to be their protector and provider. Let no weapon formed against them prosper and keep these children in Your perfect safety. We ask You to soften the hearts of the ex in-laws, to remove greed and anger and to give them a spirit of compassion and justice. If it is Your will, keep this family in the home where they are safe, or open a better door that no man can shut. For our daughter who cries constantly, we ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Help her to cast all her anxiety on You, because You care for her 1 Peter 5:7. Remind her that You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, and that You will strengthen her and uphold her with Your righteous right hand Isaiah 41:10. Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory, and show this grandmother that You are her help and strength as well. Give them wisdom, favor with any authorities or counsel they may seek, and surround them with godly people from the church who can stand with them and offer practical help and wise counsel. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage you to keep bringing this before the Lord without ceasing, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. Encourage your daughter to do the same and to seek wise, godly counsel and any available legal aid or help from her local church body, for the Lord often provides help through His people. Do not avenge yourselves, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Trust that God is just and that He will act in His perfect timing. We are standing with you in prayer, asking God to ease your daughter's mind, dry her tears, keep your grandsons safe, and make a way where there seems to be no way.
