Prayer for marriage and career

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for allowing us to pray with you. Your desire for a marriage that is lifelong, faithful and rooted in love is good and honors God, for marriage is honorable and is meant to be a covenant of one man and one woman for life. We join you in asking the Lord for breakthrough and we thank Him that you have chosen to turn from what was unfruitful and to seek His will.

We have prayed for you, that God would heal the wounds left by past relationships and give you wisdom and discernment for the future. Scripture teaches that our deepest friendships and bonds should be formed upon godliness rather than only attraction, familiarity or other outward reasons. When Christ is the foundation, love is better able to endure and to reflect His love for the Church, where the husband cares for his wife as Christ cares for His body and the wife and husband walk together in mutual respect and faithfulness.

We also prayed that in this season of waiting you would be strengthened to live a life worthy of the gift you have received in Christ. The grace given to us in salvation through Jesus Christ alone not only forgives but calls us to guard what we have been given and to bring forth fruit unto God. Continue to seek Him in prayer and fasting, in His Word, and in fellowship with mature believers who can know you, counsel you and help you discern character over time. A loving, caring and loyal husband is known not only by words at the beginning but by steady faith, patience, honesty, self control and a life that already seeks to serve Christ.

We ask the Father in the name of Jesus to grant you peace where there has been pain, to restore your hope, and to guide your steps in both marriage and career. May He provide work that allows you to use your gifts for His glory and to provide with dignity, and may He, in His perfect timing, bring a godly husband if it is His will, a man who will love you faithfully and walk with you in holiness. Above all we pray that your joy and security would be rooted in Christ Himself, who is our Saviour and who will never leave those who trust in Him.

We will continue to pray that you grow in discernment, that you are protected from harmful patterns, and that today indeed marks a new step of trusting God more fully and waiting on His good provision.
