Prayer for marriage and career

Disciple of Prayer
May God bless your souls for praying. I am a ### year old female, my name is ###. I always seem to encounter narcissist man, I left a ### year relationship that didn't bring to nothing. I fasted and prayed, I finally decided to let go. I started to declare blessings upon my life. But It seems I attract those type of men. I come in agreement with your prayers in Jesus name, I would like to marry once and good and to find a loving and caring and loyal husband soon. I decide today is my breakthrough.

We join with you in prayer today and we thank you for sharing your heart with us. We rejoice that you have sought the Lord through fasting and prayer and that you found the courage to let go of a long relationship that was not leading to godly marriage. That step of obedience takes faith and we honor your desire to declare blessings over your life and to trust God for a breakthrough.

We hear your longing to marry once and well to a loving and caring and loyal husband and we strongly affirm that desire. We believe marriage is a sacred and lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God for our good and for His glory. We pray for a godly marriage for you, not simply a relationship or partnership, but a holy union that honors Christ. We encourage you as you move forward to pursue courtship with the clear goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Jesus Christ, for scripture teaches us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6:14 and that charm is deceitful and beauty is vain but a woman who fears Yahweh shall be praised in Proverbs 31:30.

We also want to lovingly speak to the pattern you have noticed and to the long relationship that has now ended. When a relationship continues for years outside of marriage, it often involves emotional and physical intimacy that God reserves for marriage alone. Scripture calls sex outside of marriage fornication and warns us to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18, because our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. If there was sexual intimacy in that past relationship, we encourage you to bring it fully before the Lord in repentance and to receive His complete forgiveness and cleansing in 1 John 1:9. This is not to condemn you, for there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus in Romans 8:1, but to help you walk forward in purity and wholeness so that your next courtship can be built on holiness and self control and mutual respect.

The pattern of encountering men who are selfish or narcissistic can be deeply painful and can leave wounds that need healing. We encourage you not to rush quickly into a new commitment out of a desire to marry soon, but to allow God to heal your heart and to give you discernment. Above all else guard your heart for out of it are the issues of life in Proverbs 4:23. Delight yourself also in Yahweh and he will give you the desires of your heart in Psalm 37:4. As you delight in Him, He will refine what you desire and whom you are drawn to. We encourage you to seek wise and godly counsel in your local church, to be accountable to mature believers who can help you discern character, and to observe a man over time to see if he displays the fruit of the Spirit, humility, kindness, faithfulness and a love for Jesus above all.

We also lift up your career before the Lord. We trust that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. For we know the thoughts that God thinks toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future in Jeremiah 29:11. Commit your deeds to Yahweh and your plans shall succeed in Proverbs 16:3. Whether He opens a new door or establishes you where you are, we pray He will give you purpose and provision and that your work would glorify Him.

We now pray together with you.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and mediator. We thank You for our sister, for her faith and her willingness to let go of what was not Your best. We ask You to wash her completely in the blood of Jesus, to heal every wound from past relationships, to restore her identity and worth in You, and to help her to forgive those who have hurt her. Lord, close the door to every ungodly soul tie and break any pattern of attracting men who are self centered or manipulative. Give her eyes to see as You see and wisdom to recognize a man after Your own heart. We ask You to prepare a godly husband for her, a man who loves You first, who will love her as Christ loved the church, who will be loyal and caring and faithful for a lifetime. Teach her to wait on Your perfect timing and to trust You while You prepare them both. Father, we also place her career in Your hands. Guide her steps, open the right doors, grant her favor and diligence and joy in her work. Let today indeed be a day of breakthrough, not by our will but by Yours, and help her to trust in Yahweh with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding, and in all her ways acknowledge Him and He will direct her paths in Proverbs 3:5-6. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:7. We declare that You are making all things new in Isaiah 43:19. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word, to continue declaring scripture over your life, and to walk in purity and hope. God is not withholding good from you. He is preparing you and He is faithful. Keep seeking Him first and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you in Matthew 6:33.

Thank you for trusting us with this. Letting go after a long relationship takes real courage, and we admire the way you have sought God through prayer and fasting and are now speaking hope over your future.

It makes sense you would want to understand why similar relationships have kept appearing and to want something steady and faithful for marriage. Sometimes when we have been hurt, it helps to invite a wise, objective voice in, not to label anyone, but to help us see patterns more clearly and to practice recognizing healthy character early on. The same kind of clarity can help with work, taking time to name your strengths, interests and values and how God might be leading you to use them.

One gentle next step could be to meet regularly with a trusted pastor, mentor or Christian counselor, someone who knows you, to talk through both areas, what you are looking for in a future husband and what direction you sense for your career, and to pray with you as you make decisions.

We are standing with you for healing from what has been painful and for wisdom for what is ahead.

Father, we bring our sister before You in Jesus name. You see her heart and her desire for a faithful, loving marriage and for meaningful work. Heal what still hurts, guard her heart, and give her clear discernment and peace as she moves forward. Lead her steps and draw her close to You each day. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

We have carried your petition to the Mercy Seat and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to hear your cry and to grant you His wisdom and keeping power.

You have known sorrow in a long relationship which came to nothing, and you have felt the sting of being joined to those who sought only themselves. We thank God that He has given you grace to let go and to turn your face toward Him, for there is a refuge for you even in matters of ordinary Providence, and there is always the bosom of Christ for you to fly to. The fear of the Lord does not drive you from Him but draws you near, and in that fear there is strong confidence.

Know this, that the Lord has been a Husband unto His people. Having loved His bride and finding her in bondage, He ceased not until the utmost was done for her liberty, giving Egypt for her ransom. He is a wall of fire round about His own, preserving them from temptations without and corruptions within, from the world, the flesh and the devil. If you are His, you are already greatly loved and highly valued, for Christ sets a very high store upon His own and He never shrinks from doing those loving works which belong to the Husband of His chosen. Tell your very heart out to Christ, reveal your soul to Him, for He is the Husband who will keep you and provide for you whether an earthly husband be given soon or in His own appointed season.

Concerning marriage, we pray with you that if it be the Lord's will to give you marriage, it may be that true marriage of which the Scripture speaks, where husband and wife become one, not two persons maintaining a separate individuality as if by contract, but one flesh in a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, whose very crown is mutual delight and complacency. Such a union is honorable and holy, and we ask the Lord to keep you from every counterfeit of it. Do not be eager to be pleased with mere words or fair appearances, for the pretender may make mention of the name of the Lord and yet know nothing of inward grace, like fungus forced by artificial heat which is far different from the rosy fruit of a healthy tree. Pray for discernment, and seek that Christian association which is of utmost value in keeping us from sin, for much of your influence for good and your preservation from harm will depend upon your character and your company. Walk with warm hearted Christians, seek counsel of godly older women and faithful ministers, and let no man win your hand who does not first love Christ and show it by a life of truth, humility and self denying love.

We also remember your career before the Lord. Do not sort out your actions saying, in this thing I am to be a Christian and in the other thing I am to be a businesswoman, for business is not to be left unchristianized. The Christian who does not Christianize his calling is as savorless salt. You need not be a fool because you are a Christian, there is no necessity to be less shrewd or less diligent, but let all your labour be bathed in prayer. The true Christian will pray in business, will pray in labour, will pray in his ordinary calling, and like sparks out of the smithy chimney short prayers will fly up all day long from a devout soul. Commit your work to the Lord, do it as unto Him, and trust Him for ordinary Providence as well as for spiritual preservation.

You have fasted and prayed and declared blessing upon your life, and we exhort you to continue as one who will not be denied. Jacob wrestled and became a prince from that night, and the importunate soul whom God loves will not take a denial but wrestles until the blessing comes. Yet let your importunity be shaped by submission to the will of God, asking not only for a husband soon, but for Christ to be formed in you, for purity to be preserved, for patience to be perfected, and for the Lord to prepare both you and the one He may provide.

Our prayer for you is this, that the Lord would heal your wounds, establish your heart in His love, guard you from every selfish and deceitful man, and in His perfect time bring into your life, if it be His good pleasure, a loving and caring and loyal husband who will love you as Christ loves the church and with whom you may live in faithfulness all your days. And whether that gift be given quickly or after waiting, may you find your breakthrough today in belonging wholly to Christ, kept from sin, strong in character, fruitful in your calling, and full of peace within the wall of fire of His Husbandly care.
