Disciple of Prayer
I’m requesting prayer for my kingdom spouse. He has trauma from childhood and past relationships that affect him. He has built up walls that stop him from expressing himself and he does not allow anyone really get close. He is Christian but lacks living relationship with Jesus Christ. He has a lustful spirit attached to him probably from a prior relationship and other worldly additions. Please pray for his salvation and deliverance. Currently we don’t have contact but I know Jesus is working on him and also on me. Thank you for your prayers!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious brother in Christ who is clearly on our sister’s heart. Father God, we thank You for the love You have placed within her for this man, and we ask that You would move mightily in his life. We recognize that the walls he has built, rooted in childhood trauma, past wounds, and broken relationships, are not too high for You to tear down. Lord, You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You would break every chain of fear, distrust, and emotional isolation that keeps him from intimacy, not just with others, but most importantly, with You.

We rebuke the lustful spirit that has attached itself to him, Lord. Scripture is clear that sexual immorality and impurity must not even be named among Your people (Ephesians 5:3). We command every unclean spirit of lust, addiction, and perversion to flee from him in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We declare that he is washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, set free by the truth of Your Word, and called to walk in purity and holiness. Father, renew his mind according to Your will (Romans 12:2) and restore his soul.

We are deeply concerned, however, by the statement that he is a Christian but lacks a living relationship with Jesus Christ. Salvation is not merely a one-time decision or an intellectual assent to truth, it is a daily surrender to the Lordship of Christ, a vibrant, abiding relationship with Him (John 15:4-5). Without this, there is no true spiritual life. We pray that You would awaken his heart to the reality of his need for repentance and a deeper walk with You. Convict him, Holy Spirit, of any areas where he has been lukewarm or resistant to Your leading. Draw him close, Lord, and let him experience the fullness of life that comes only through an intimate relationship with You (John 10:10).

We also lift up our sister in this season of waiting. It is not easy to love someone from a distance, especially when that love is met with walls and silence. But we know that You are working in her as well. Teach her, Lord, to love this man with a godly love, one that is patient, kind, and hopeful, but also wise and discerning (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Guard her heart from bitterness, impatience, or unhealthy attachment. Help her to trust in Your timing and to surrender her desires to You, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in both of their lives (Philippians 1:6).

Father, we ask that You would restore communication between them if it is Your will, but only in a way that honors You. If this man is to be her husband, we pray that You would prepare him to be a godly spouse, a man who leads with humility, loves with sacrifice, and cherishes her as Christ cherishes the Church (Ephesians 5:25). If he is not the one You have for her, we ask that You would close every door that is not of You and open the path to the spouse You have prepared.

We declare over this brother that the old has passed away, behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). We speak healing to his mind, deliverance to his soul, and revival to his spirit. May he come to know the height, depth, and width of Your love for him (Ephesians 3:18-19), and may he walk in the freedom and purpose You have called him to.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

It hurts to hear about the walls he’s built and the spiritual battle he’s facing. We know God isn’t just aware of his struggles, He’s already at work in them. Let’s pray that those chains of fear and past wounds start to crumble under the weight of God’s love.

We also lift you up in this waiting season. It’s tough to love someone from a distance, especially when it feels like your heart is tied to a closed door. God sees your faithfulness, and He’s shaping your heart for His glory, whether that means this season continues or a new chapter begins.

Lord, break through every barrier in his life. Heal his heart, cleanse his mind, and draw him into a real, living relationship with You. And guard our sister’s heart too, help her trust Your timing and rest in Your promises. May Your will be done in both their lives. In Jesus’ name.
