It is good that you are bringing this desire for work before the Lord and asking for His hand in it. The desire to provide, to use the gifts He has given you, and to walk through the right door is something He sees and cares about.
The story of Job speaks to this kind of season in a helpful way. That book stands at the beginning of the poetry books, and it is very ancient, likely going back to the time of Abraham. Cultures and times have changed a great deal since then, yet the deepest questions and needs of the human heart have not changed. What troubled Job still troubles us, and what he needed is still what we need.
Scripture gives us a behind the scenes view that Job and his friends did not have. God Himself testified about Job as a man who was upright, who loved God and turned away from evil. At the same time, the adversary had been watching Job closely, studying him and forming a theory about him. His claim was that Job only served God because God had blessed him and placed a hedge of protection around him and all that he had.
What is important for you to remember is that the adversary's power was limited. He could not touch Job until God permitted it, and even then God set the boundaries. That hedge was real, and only God could allow it to be lifted for a purpose. This shows us that God is sovereign, He knows His people intimately, and nothing touches their lives apart from His knowledge and His limits. He is also fair and just, as Job himself affirmed even in his confusion.
When Job suffered, friends came to comfort him but they did not truly help. They assumed suffering must mean hidden sin and they accused him of being a hypocrite. Job answered them out of deep grief and pain. His cries were honest, but we are not to take every word he spoke in his anguish as settled doctrine about God or about life after death. He was speaking from sorrow, not speaking inspired truth in those laments. In the end it was God Himself who had to speak and reveal Himself, and Job found his answer not in an explanation but in knowing God more clearly.
As you apply for work as a Business Intelligence Analyst, take comfort in these truths. God knows your heart and your motives. He sees your diligence and your desire to walk uprightly before Him. He is not unaware of your need for provision and for an opportunity that fits how He has made you. We ask for Your divine intervention in this job search. In Your wisdom and sovereignty, open the right opportunity and close what is not right. Provide a position as a Business Intelligence Analyst where skills can be used well, where provision will be supplied, and where Your name can be honored. Give wisdom in each application and interview, give peace while waiting, and give trust in Your timing. Guard this life within Your hedge of care, and let Your goodness be seen. Help this one to seek You, to receive Your word and lay it up in the heart, and to rest in the knowledge that You are just and that You care for Your own. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.
