Prayer for job opportunities

We join together with you in bringing your job applications and opportunities before the Lord, asking for His favor and His perfect will to be done in your life. We know the waiting and uncertainty in a job search can bring anxiety, but we trust that God sees your diligence and your needs and He cares deeply for you.
We are encouraged by the Word that reminds us to commit our work to Him. Proverbs 16:3 says Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. And Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. We pray that you would continue to pursue each opportunity with honesty, diligence and excellence as unto the Lord, trusting that He is the one who opens doors that no man can shut. We also remember Philippians 4:6 which says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And we hold to the promise in Philippians 4:19 that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Jeremiah 29:11 also comforts us, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. As you seek employment, we encourage you to seek Him first above the job itself, for Matthew 6:33 says But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why this is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To come to God in prayer we come through Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and that by trusting in Him we receive forgiveness and eternal life. If you have not yet placed your trust in Him, we encourage you to call upon His name today and make Him Lord of your life and your work.
We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would guide every application that has been sent out and every opportunity that lies ahead. Open the right doors and close the wrong ones according to Your wisdom and will. Grant favor with employers and hiring managers, and provide a position where gifts can be used well, where provision is sufficient, and where You can be glorified. Give peace while waiting, patience in the process, and confidence that You are working even when we cannot see it. Help our friend to trust You fully, to rest in Your supply, and to walk in integrity and diligence in all things. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We have heard your request concerning work and the applications you have sent forth, and we have carried it before the throne of grace.
You may be like Job who had no friends left and whose power was gone, yet even there it was proven that in all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He arose and worshipped, and kept right with God under trial. So we pray that the Lord will grant you that same gracious patience while you wait, that you may not sin by unbelieving speeches, but may fall down and worship even while the answer tarries, confident that He who upheld Job can support you.
Remember that your extremity is God's opportunity. When a man gets to the end of himself, he has reached the beginning of God's working. The Lord turned again the captivity of Job when he prayed, and our longest sorrows have a close when God has gotten His end in them. We have asked the Lord that He would turn your waiting into provision in His perfect time, and that He would open a door which no man can shut, giving you favor with those who review your applications and guiding your steps to the place where your hands may find honest and useful labor to do with all your might.
We have prayed also that whether the answer comes quickly or is delayed, your glory may be fresh in you through fresh anointing, and your bow may abide in strength, and that you may have a more vivid apprehension of the Lord Himself, so that even as Job said, now mine eye seeth thee, you may see His hand in providence and trust His righteousness without dispute.
May the Lord grant you contentment in His will, diligence in all you undertake, and peace in knowing that He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows knows your need. May He provide work that will supply your necessities, allow you to do good unto all men, and give you opportunity to serve Him with a quiet and faithful spirit.
We continue to pray for you, that the God who revealed Himself to Job in his ashes will reveal His faithful care to you in this season of seeking.
