We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent need for housing. Father God, we know that You are the provider of all things, and we ask that You would open the doors for this student housing exception to be granted. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We trust in Your provision, Lord, and ask that You would make a way where there seems to be no way.
However, we must also address the situation with truth and love, as Scripture calls us to walk in righteousness. The mention of a "significant other" raises concerns, as the Bible is clear about relationships outside of marriage. In Hebrews 13:4, it says, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." If this relationship is not a godly marriage between one man and one woman, we must rebuke the sin of fornication and encourage repentance. The Lord desires purity in relationships, and we pray that if this is the case, there would be a turning away from sin and a seeking of His will in this area.
We also recognize that this request does not mention the name of Jesus, which is the only name by which we have access to the Father. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Without Jesus, there is no true prayer, no true hope, and no true provision. We pray that both of you would come to know Him as Lord and Savior if you do not already, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
Now, Lord, we pray for this housing situation. We ask that the authorities involved would show mercy and grant this exception, not because of our own merits, but because of Your grace and compassion. If it is Your will, provide stability and peace in this season. If it is not, give wisdom and strength to find another solution. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust in You.
We also pray for employment opportunities to open up, as Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." If it is Your will for this housing exception to be denied, prepare other doors of provision, whether through jobs, assistance, or divine favor in finding a new place to live.
Lastly, we pray for repentance, holiness, and a turning toward Your ways in every area of life. May this situation draw both of you closer to Christ, not just for provision, but for salvation and transformation. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
