Prayer for healing

Please pray for healing for my eyesight, and for me to find the resources I need for eye care. Thank you very much. Also please pray for my home life. My wife is constantly cursing and yelling at me for the smallest things, and I am doing my best to be patient.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your needs to Him who sees and knows all. First, we pray for your eyesight, dear brother. The Lord is our healer, and we trust in His power to restore and provide. "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven" (James 5:13-15). Father, we ask You to guide this brother to the right resources for his eye care, whether through skilled physicians, financial provision, or divine intervention. Open doors that no man can shut, and let Your healing touch be upon his eyes.

We also lift up your home life, for the strife and tension you describe grieves our hearts. Marriage is a sacred covenant, meant to reflect Christ’s love for the church, a love that is patient, kind, and not easily provoked (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). Yet we know the enemy seeks to sow discord and wear down the godly spirit. "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1). Brother, we encourage you to continue responding with gentleness, even when your wife’s words are sharp. Your patience is not in vain, for "a man’s wisdom makes his face shine, and the hardness of his face is changed" (Ecclesiastes 8:1). But we must also address the sin in your home: cursing and yelling are not of God. "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear" (Ephesians 4:29). We rebuke the spirit of strife in the name of Jesus and command it to leave this marriage. We pray for your wife’s heart to be softened, for the Holy Spirit to convict her of her words, and for her to seek godly counsel if needed.

Father, we ask You to strengthen this brother in his faith and endurance. Give him wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent, and fill his home with Your peace. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain" (Psalm 127:1). We declare that Your presence will dwell in this home, that love will cover a multitude of sins, and that this marriage will be a testimony to Your grace. We pray for unity, for healing in communication, and for both of you to seek Your face together. If there are unrepentant sins, whether in speech, bitterness, or unforgiveness, we ask You to bring them to light so they may be dealt with in the light of Your truth.

Lord, we also pray for this brother’s emotional and spiritual well-being. The constant tension in his home is a heavy burden, and we ask You to be his refuge. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). Surround him with godly fellowship, with brothers in Christ who can pray with him, encourage him, and hold him accountable. Remind him that his identity is in You, not in the approval of man, and that his labor in the Lord is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

We stand in the gap for this marriage, declaring that what the enemy meant for harm, God will turn for good (Genesis 50:20). We pray for a revival in this home, for hearts to be turned toward You, and for the fruits of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, to overflow (Galatians 5:22-23). May this brother and his wife be a light to others, showing the power of Christ to restore even the most broken relationships.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with both of these needs. We are sorry you are carrying so much. Your patience in the face of constant yelling and cursing is real, but that steady stream can quietly wear down even the most patient person. That is not a weakness in you; it is a heavy weight, and you do not have to carry it alone.

For your eyesight, please do see an eye professional if you have not already. Many communities have low-cost options through Lions Clubs, optometry schools, or local health ministries, and a pastor or church office may know of help with the cost. That is a practical step alongside prayer.

For your home, we would gently encourage you to bring a trusted pastor or Christian counselor into the situation. Not to make your wife the enemy, but so you have steady support and a safe place to sort through what you are enduring. Verbal abuse is serious, and you deserve help and perspective, not just more silent endurance.

Father, we bring this man before you now. Guide him to the right eye care and the resources he needs. Protect his heart and mind in his home, and give him wisdom for each day. Surround him with trustworthy counsel and peace that does not depend on his circumstances. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The prayer for your eyesight and for the means to obtain care is laid before the throne of grace, and there is healing in the Lord Jesus for the body as well as for the soul. The same hand that touched the blind and made them see is not shortened, and the same compassion that moved Him then is not exhausted. Ask Him to keep you as the apple of His eye, for His providence has a peculiar tenderness toward the eye, and He who made the eye is able to preserve and restore it. Seek also the resources with diligence, and trust that the Provider of all things will not fail one of His children in the hour of need. Let the want itself be a goad to prayer, and the answer, when it comes, a testimony to His faithfulness.

As for the home, the trial you describe is heavier than the failing of the eyes, for a wounded spirit who can bear. Yet even here the Great Physician has healing leaves for the nations. You are doing well to be patient, but patience of the natural kind will soon be spent. It must be patience drawn from Christ, who endured the contradiction of sinners against Himself. Look to Him who, when He was reviled, reviled not again, and who bore in His own flesh the sharp cuts we deserved. That is the pattern and the power for a husband under a bitter tongue. Pray not only for your wife to be changed, but for your own heart to be changed into His likeness, for the home is the place where grace is most tried and where it shines most brightly.

Take heed how you hear this. There is no merit in merely enduring if you do not also examine your own heart before the Lord. Ask Him to search you and see if there be any way in you that gives offense, and to make you strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Then bring your wife to Jesus in prayer, telling Him all that ails the household, making no excuses for yourself and no accusation against her, but laying her case and your own before the Lord. He who healed Peter's wife's mother and lifted her up to serve is able to touch your home. The sharpest trial in your own house may be the very means of your sanctification, for the Lord uses the darkest cloud to scatter itself in its season and the blackest gloom to make way for the morning.

Above all, do not seek first the healing of the eye or the peace of the home, but the healing of the soul through the pardon of sin. Your sins were carried by Christ, and He drank the cup of wrath dry on your account. When sin is forgiven, the burden of every other trouble is lightened. Come to Him as the sick come to a physician, not as a looker-on, but as one who must be healed. Believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, and then wait upon Him for every mercy connected with this life. The Lord keep you as the apple of His eye, and make your light to shine before men, even in a dark and difficult house.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
