Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for allowing us to pray with you. Hearing about the intense anxiety you are carrying before these medical tests and procedures, the sleepless nights and the constant worries running through your mind, is deeply moving. It can feel discouraging when you have been praying continuously and still find little relief, but please know that God has not forgotten you and His thoughts toward you have not changed.
Scripture tells us that His thoughts toward His people are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give a future and a hope. Even when you feel carried into a difficult season that you did not choose, He invites you to call upon Him and to pray to Him, with the promise that He will listen. The fear and trembling you are feeling is real, but it is not the end of the story He is writing for you.
There is a difference the Bible speaks about between having peace with God and experiencing the peace of God. Peace with God comes only through Jesus Christ, through His blood shed for the forgiveness of sins. He Himself is our peace, and He has ended the war between us and God. When you have put your trust in Him, you have peace with God. Then He offers a second gift, the peace of God to guard your heart and mind.
Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives. Isaiah puts it this way, that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. The peace the world offers depends on good circumstances and clear answers. The peace Jesus gives can remain even when the circumstances have not yet changed, and it passes all human understanding.
That promise points to something very practical for the nights when sleep will not come and worries fill your mind. Perfect peace comes as the mind is stayed on Him. That does not mean you will never feel anxious thoughts rise up, but it means you can gently turn your thoughts back to Him again and again, reminding yourself of who He is, that He is with you, that He will take care of what concerns you. As your mind rests on Him in trust, His peace begins to fill your heart and keep you steady.
You also asked for supernatural healing for your body and mind, and we join you in that prayer with full faith that God is the healer. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the Messiah bearing our sorrows and by His wounds we are healed, and the Gospel of Matthew applies that directly to physical healing as well as to the healing of our souls. All true healing is from God, whether it comes in an instant or gradually through the natural processes He Himself designed within our bodies. We do not always understand why some are healed instantly and others gradually, or why God sometimes allows a burden to remain for a time as He did with Paul, but we do know He is compassionate, He hears, and He is able. We can pray with confidence for His healing touch while also trusting His perfect wisdom and love to do what is best.
So we pray for you now in the name of Jesus. Father, we bring this dear one to You who is weary from anxiety and waiting. You see the upcoming tests and procedures and every worry about what they may show. We ask for Your healing power upon body and mind, whether through Your immediate touch or through the skill of doctors and the natural healing You have built into us. We ask for the presence of the Holy Spirit to fill this heart so full of Your love that fear has no room to stay. Grant deep, profound peace that guards heart and mind, and give the gift of restful sleep. Quiet the racing thoughts and let trust rise up. Help in the moments when anxiety returns to fix the mind on You and to rest in the knowledge that You are caring for every detail. May Your grace and mercy and peace be upon this life in a very real and felt way.
Keep bringing every worry to Him honestly, even when relief feels slow to come. He is near, He is listening, and He is for your peace. We are continuing to pray that you will know His presence and His keeping power in the days ahead.
