Prayer for healing and for calming anxiety

Servant of All
I’ve had some intense anxiety due to some upcoming medical test and procedures. I’m having extreme amount of difficulty sleeping and worries always on my mind. I’ve been praying continuously, but finding minimal relief. I could use prayer for both supernatural healing of my body in my mind. May the presence of the Holy Spirit feel me so full of his love, his peace, and his presence that I have a deep profound peace. I appreciate prayers in Jesus name amen.

We join with you in this time of intense anxiety and sleeplessness as you face these upcoming medical tests and procedures, and we lift you up together before our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name. We are thankful that you have come to Him in continuous prayer and in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and peace with Him, as it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5.

We understand how heavy worry can feel when it rests constantly on the mind and steals sleep, and we want to remind you that God sees your struggle and cares deeply for you. We are encouraged to cast all our cares upon Him. As Scripture says, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. That peace is not dependent on test results but on His presence guarding your heart and mind.

We also claim His promise for you in this anxious season, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10, and For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. Your anxiety does not mean your faith has failed, it means you are in need of His strength, and He is faithful to provide it.

We pray together for your healing and for deep, supernatural rest. We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you so full of His love and presence that a profound peace would settle over your body and mind, quieting every fearful thought.

Father, in the name of Jesus we bring our dear one before Your throne of grace. You know the medical tests that lie ahead, You know every cell of the body You created, and You know every anxious thought and sleepless night. We ask for Your healing touch upon this body according to Your will and mercy, for You are the One who forgives all our sins and who heals all our diseases, Psalm 103:3. We ask that You would calm this mind and grant the deep, abiding peace that surpasses all understanding to guard this heart in Christ Jesus. Pour out Your Holy Spirit in fullness, let Your love cast out fear, and let Your presence be felt in a tangible way. We pray for sleep, for You alone make us dwell in safety and in peace we can lay down and sleep, Psalm 4:8. Quiet the worries that circle constantly, replace them with trust in Your goodness, and let Your perfect love bring rest. Guide the hands and minds of the medical team, give clarity in every test and procedure, and let Your will be done for healing and wholeness. We trust You to carry what feels too heavy to carry alone, and we thank You that You hear us when we call. In the mighty and healing name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue bringing every worry to Him the moment it arises, even through the night, speaking His promises aloud and thanking Him in advance for His care. Keep your heart stayed on Him, rest in His love, and allow His Word to be your comfort when sleep is difficult. He is with you in the waiting room, in the test, and in the night watches, and He will uphold you with His righteous right hand.

We have been holding your request before the Lord and we hear how exhausting this season has been. Waiting for medical tests can keep the mind racing day and night, and when sleep does not come the worries feel even heavier. It makes sense you would feel worn down even as you keep praying.

We are thankful you have kept bringing this to Jesus, even when relief has felt minimal. That persistence matters, and God sees your desire for His peace to fill you more fully than fear does.

As you wait for these procedures, it may help to let your medical team know just how intense the anxiety and sleeplessness have become, so they can walk with you more closely alongside prayer. If you can, consider bringing a trusted friend or family member to appointments to listen with you and help you remember what is said. A pastor or trusted counselor can also be a steady support in these weeks.

We also encourage you to keep your doctor informed about ongoing sleep difficulties so you get appropriate care.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You know the tests ahead and the anxious thoughts that will not quiet. We ask for Your healing touch on body and mind, for Your Holy Spirit to bring deep, abiding peace, and for restful sleep in Your care. Give wisdom to the medical team and comfort to this heart as they wait. Amen.

Anxiety before medical tests can make everything feel worse, and when sleep goes too the days just pile up. There's a short spoken prayer called the Limbic System Repatterning Prayer on the One Prayer at a Time YouTube channel, prayed over calming fear and stress in the body, and you only have to listen. I hope the tests come back clear and you get some real rest soon.

We have heard your earnest cry under the weight of anxious thoughts and sleepless nights as you await these medical tests and procedures, and we count it a privilege to bear your burden before the throne of grace with you.

There is a precious promise for such an hour as this, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee." This perfect peace is not found in the absence of trouble, but in the presence of Christ. It is the blood of Jesus that whispers peace within, even when duties press and sorrows surge around. When the mind is stayed upon Him, when we labour to cast our care upon Him who careth for us, He keeps the heart in a peace that the world cannot give and cannot take away.

You speak of sleep that will not come, and of worries that crowd the mind. Remember that it is written, "So he giveth his beloved sleep." That sleep is the sleep of one whose conscience is at peace with God through faith in Christ, the sleep of security under His watchful eye. The same Lord who says, "Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee," watches over you in the night season. Fear is weakening and dishonours the God who has promised to be your shield and exceeding great reward. To trust His promised strength is to obey His tender command, "Fear not."

And there is healing in Christ, abundance of healing. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ has healing virtue. He who pardons sin also heals disease, for pardon and healing flow from the same pierced hand. Whether He restores by His own immediate touch or by the skill of physicians whom He guides, all healing comes from Him.

Let us pray together for you.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this anxious and weary child of Thine. Thou knowest the dread of these coming tests, the restless nights, the thoughts that will not be still. Speak Thou peace to this troubled heart. Stay this mind upon Thyself, and keep it in perfect peace through trust in Jesus Christ our Lord. Forgive all sin, and let justification by faith bring deep peace with Thee. Grant, we beseech Thee, healing to body and to mind according to Thy perfect will, and give wisdom to those who shall minister in these procedures. Pour out Thy Holy Spirit, that this dear one may be filled with Thy love and Thy presence, and may know that profound calm which passeth all understanding. Give the sleep of Thy beloved, quiet the demon of restlessness, and let the soul rest securely in Thy keeping. Help this one to fear not, for Thou hast promised, I will help thee. All this we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our peace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
