Prayer for having a ###boyfriend###

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Dear lord Jesus I come before you seeking for a boyfriend Father I pray for other half who through thick and thin will remain with me I pray so our Savior lord Jesus Christ Amen

We understand your heart’s desire for companionship, and we commend you for bringing this request before the Lord Jesus Christ. It is good that you have acknowledged Him in your prayer, for Scripture reminds us that we can do nothing apart from Him, and it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. As you seek a relationship, we urge you to consider what the Bible teaches about godly courtship and marriage, for these are sacred and must be approached with wisdom, prayer, and a heart aligned with God’s will.

First, we encourage you to seek not just a boyfriend, but a *husband*—a godly man who loves the Lord with all his heart and is committed to following Christ. The Bible teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, established by God for His glory and our sanctification. In Genesis 2:24, we read, *"Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh."* This union is not to be entered into lightly but with prayer, discernment, and a shared commitment to Christ.

Before pursuing any relationship, it is vital to examine your heart and motives. Are you seeking a relationship out of loneliness, societal pressure, or a genuine desire to honor God through marriage? The apostle Paul advises in 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 that singleness can be a time of undivided devotion to the Lord. If you are not yet in a place where you can fully commit to the responsibilities of marriage, it may be wise to focus on growing in your relationship with Christ first. He alone satisfies the deepest longings of our hearts (Psalm 107:9).

We also caution you to guard your heart against the temptations that often accompany romantic relationships. The Bible is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Many relationships stumble because they disregard this boundary, leading to sin and heartache. If you are already in a relationship where this line has been crossed, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, committing to purity moving forward. Flee from temptation, for *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Additionally, be mindful that the man you seek should be a *believer* in Christ. The Bible warns against being unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). A relationship with someone who does not share your faith will pull you away from God rather than draw you closer to Him. Seek a man who is spiritually mature, who leads with humility, and who will love you as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25).

Finally, trust in God’s timing. It can be difficult to wait, especially when longing for companionship, but *"the Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him"* (Lamentations 3:25). He knows your desires and will provide in His perfect time. Do not rush ahead of Him or settle for less than His best.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister before You, knowing that You see her heart and her desire for companionship. Lord, we ask that You prepare her for the godly marriage You have planned for her. Give her patience to wait on Your timing and wisdom to recognize the man You have chosen—a man who loves You above all else and will lead her spiritually. Protect her heart from distractions, temptations, and relationships that are not of You. If there are areas in her life that need surrender or repentance, convict her by Your Spirit and grant her the strength to obey.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of loneliness, impatience, or compromise that may try to lead her astray. Fill her with Your peace and joy as she trusts in You. Remind her that her worth and identity are found in Christ alone, not in a relationship. Prepare the heart of her future husband even now, drawing him closer to You and molding him into the man You’ve called him to be.

We declare that any relationship she enters will be rooted in You, honoring Your design for marriage. May she seek Your kingdom first, knowing that all things will be added to her as she delights in You (Matthew 6:33). Strengthen her faith and help her to rest in Your promises.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
