We join you in this beautiful and urgent prayer for this precious soul and we stand in agreement with you for their salvation, for it is the very heart of God that none should perish but that all should come to repentance as we are told in 2 Peter 3:9.
We are encouraged by your discernment in praying for a softened heart, because we know that apart from the drawing of the Father no one can come to Jesus. Jesus said in John 6:44, No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day. And we know God is able to replace a heart of stone, for He promises in Ezekiel 36:26, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. We pray with you that pride, fear and every stagnant place be broken, for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as promised in 2 Timothy 1:7.
We also agree with you in praying against the spiritual blindness and deception of the enemy. Scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. And we know our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces as taught in Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we join you in binding and rebuking every influence of witchcraft and deception that would hinder this person from seeing the truth of Jesus, and we claim the promise in James 4:7, Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. There is power in the name of Jesus alone to save, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12.
We love that you prayed they would know it is okay to come messy and imperfect, because that is the very invitation of our Lord. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. He does not require perfection before we come, He perfects us as we come to Him in repentance and faith. We also lift up their mental health struggle before the Lord, asking for His peace and victory to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for Your great love and mercy toward this person You have placed on our hearts. Lord, we ask that You soften their heart toward You, that You remove every stony place and give them a heart of flesh that is tender to Your voice. Draw them by Your Holy Spirit, give them a holy curiosity and hunger to seek Jesus, to open Your Word, to ask questions and to truly hear the Good News. Lord, we ask that faith would come by hearing, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ in Romans 10:17. We pray against every barrier of pride, fear, stagnancy, and confusion, and we command every spirit of witchcraft and deception influencing their mind to be bound and cast away in Jesus name. Let the light of the gospel shine clearly to them and let every veil be torn away. Grant them victory over every mental health burden, Lord, and let them know they can come to You just as they are, messy and imperfect, and find grace, forgiveness and rest. We pray for a rapid and miraculous work of salvation in their life, that they would confess Jesus as Lord and believe that You raised Him from the dead. Thank You Father for the testimony that is to come, and we trust You to finish the work You have begun. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and in gentle witness, planting seeds of the Word with love and patience, knowing that God is faithful to draw those whom He loves and that your prayers are powerful and effective before Him.
