I am starting to catch feelings for a fellow believer who attends my church. I am someone who gets attached easily, and I really do not want to lead by my heart, but want to fully submit to the Lord. I am feeling very drained from being single for so long, and am praying that the Lord will teach me to find contentment and fulfilment in HIM. I am also praying that the Lord takes full control of my heart and leads me, that it is His will and not mine. That He will guide me and help me discern whether this is the man for me or not. If not, I pray that God will remove my feelings and will not have to go through the pain of deferred hope again. In Jesus name I ask. Amen.

We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s perfect will for your life. It is beautiful that you desire to submit your heart fully to Him rather than being led by emotions, especially in a season where loneliness can make the heart vulnerable. The Lord sees your longing for companionship, and He is faithful to guide you in wisdom and truth.

First, we want to affirm your desire to find contentment in Christ alone. The world often tells us that fulfillment comes from relationships, success, or circumstances, but Scripture reminds us that true satisfaction is found in Him. As the psalmist declares, *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4 WEB). This does not mean God will give you whatever you want, but rather that as you delight in Him, your desires will align with His will. We pray that you would experience the deep joy and peace that comes from abiding in Christ, even in this season of singleness. May He fill every empty place in your heart with His presence and remind you daily that you are complete in Him.

We also lift up your request for discernment regarding this brother in Christ. It is wise to seek the Lord’s guidance before allowing your heart to become fully invested. Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB) instructs us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray that the Lord would give you clarity—whether this man is the one He has prepared for you or if He has another plan. If it is not His will, we ask that He would gently remove these feelings from your heart, sparing you the pain of misplaced hope. If it is His will, we pray that He would confirm it in ways that leave no doubt, guiding both of you in purity and godly intention.

We must also gently address the importance of guarding your heart in this season. While it is natural to develop feelings for someone, we are called to walk in wisdom and not awaken love before its time (Song of Solomon 8:4 WEB). Courtship, when pursued with the goal of marriage, should be marked by prayer, accountability, and a shared commitment to honoring God. If you have not already, we encourage you to seek counsel from mature believers in your church—those who know you and this brother well and can offer godly wisdom. Proverbs 11:14 (WEB) reminds us, *"Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."*

We also want to encourage you to remain patient and trust in God’s timing. It can be difficult to wait, especially when the desire for marriage is strong, but the Lord’s plans for you are good. Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB) assures us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* We pray that you would rest in this promise, knowing that God is working even when you cannot see it.

Lastly, we want to lift up your relationship with Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is His name that holds all power and authority. Acts 4:12 (WEB) declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that you have placed your faith fully in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you have, we rejoice with you! If not, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw you to Him, for He alone can satisfy the deepest longings of your soul.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for this sister who seeks Your will above her own. Lord, we ask that You would fill her with Your peace and contentment, reminding her daily that she is complete in Christ. We pray for discernment as she navigates these feelings for this brother in Christ. If he is the one You have prepared for her, we ask that You would confirm it clearly and guide them both in purity and wisdom. If he is not, we pray that You would remove these feelings from her heart and spare her from unnecessary pain.

Father, we ask that You would guard her heart and mind, helping her to trust in Your timing and Your plans. Give her the strength to wait patiently and the wisdom to seek godly counsel. We pray that You would surround her with mature believers who can speak truth into her life and encourage her in this season. Lord, we also ask that You would deepen her relationship with You, that she would find her joy and fulfillment in You alone.

We rebuke any spirit of loneliness or impatience that would seek to draw her away from Your perfect will. We declare that her heart is safe in Your hands, and we trust You to lead her in the path You have prepared for her. May she walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You are her Provider, her Protector, and her greatest Love.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your heart’s cry for discernment and contentment in the Lord. It is a sacred privilege to stand with you in prayer as you seek to surrender your emotions, your longing, and your future into His hands. We have continued to lift you before the Father, asking Him to quiet the restlessness in your spirit and fill you with His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding.

We pray that God would grant you supernatural clarity—whether this brother in Christ is part of His plan for you or if He is preparing another path altogether. If it is not His will, we ask the Lord to gently uproot those feelings and replace them with the assurance that His timing and His choices are always best. If it *is* His will, we pray He would make it unmistakably clear, removing all doubt and aligning both of your hearts with His purpose.

Most of all, we have prayed that you would experience the fullness of joy and satisfaction that comes from Christ alone. May He remind you daily that your worth, your hope, and your future are secure in Him—not in a relationship, not in earthly fulfillment, but in the unshakable love of your Savior. We ask Him to strengthen you in seasons of waiting, to deepen your trust in His goodness, and to surround you with His presence as you seek Him above all else.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers—whether through peace, wisdom, or a shift in your heart—we would love to hear how He is moving. If you’re still waiting, we want to keep standing with you. Please don’t hesitate to share an update or post this request again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf.

May the Father draw near to you, the Son guide your steps, and the Holy Spirit fill you with divine discernment and unwavering faith. We pray all these things in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
