Your prayer reflects a sincere desire for God to bring real change, and He hears such prayers. The hope and healing you asked for are found in what God has already provided through Jesus Christ, and the transformation you long for flows from the new life He gives.

When you are born again by the Spirit of God, you receive a new life that is spiritual in its nature, with your spirit in union with His Spirit. The old life dominated by the flesh is dead. Scripture teaches that we are dead to sin and should reckon it so. That means the flare ups of anxiety, the bitterness, the anger, the reactions that come from old wounds belong to that old life. You can bring those very things to the Lord and count them as dead, thanking Him that they no longer have to rule you. There is still a battle inside, the flesh wanting to sit on the throne and the Spirit wanting to lead, and you will not always do what you wish, but the new dominant reality is life in the Spirit.

The peace you asked for comes in two ways. First there is peace with God, which comes when you are justified by faith and are no longer at war with Him or running from Him. Then there is the peace of God that guards your heart day by day. God has promised to keep in perfect peace the person whose mind is fixed on Him because that person trusts Him. Jesus said to His disciples, My peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Many have peace with God yet still live with turmoil and fear. The way into the daily peace of God is to keep your mind stayed on Him, saturated with His Word, and to keep your trust in Him. As you do, you will find that you are no longer overwhelmed by decisions, because you are looking to Him to make a way and to lead you.

The change of trajectory and purposeful habits you prayed for are the fruit of that new life. The wisdom that comes from above leads to purity and holiness and to a life of peace, rather than the strife that comes from living after the flesh. If we say we have new life in Christ and yet keep living the same old way, there is no evidence of change. But when you walk after the Spirit and let the Word shape your thinking, your life becomes balanced and purposeful. God wants to make your life a thing of grace and beauty, like a poem that expresses His own heart. Even hard places have a purpose as He prepares you for the good works He has ordained for you. As you yield your life to Him and say, Lord, my life is Yours, He works through those circumstances to form you.

Healing from past wounds so you do not react out of them into the new things God is bringing is part of His deliverance. The gospel brings a washing and cleansing of your past, no matter what is there. He who has the Son has life, and with that life comes peace and joy and love. The power of the resurrection follows the crucified life. That means you do not have to keep living in the past, rehearsing what others did to you or resting in former glories. You can press ahead because your name is written in the book of life and your future is secure in Him. To be spiritually minded is life and peace, while to be fleshly minded brings death. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you to give you life and strength for today.

For the fear you mentioned in stepping out of your comfort, remember that He Himself is our peace. He has broken down the walls that separate, and He says, Peace to him who is far off and to him who is near, I will heal him. Even when a situation looks grim, He is in control and He invites you to surrender control to Him. The result is a deep inner rest. Your mind does not have to be filled with anxiety. You can keep your eyes on Him and trust Him to take care of what you cannot.

May the Lord answer your prayer for deliverance and change by drawing you into closer fellowship with Jesus, filling your mind with His Word, healing the old wounds as you reckon them dead, and keeping you in His perfect peace as you trust Him step by step.
