Beloved of All
I would like prayer for the upcoming changes I see to my workforce with AI and the rising cost of labor. We see opportunity and inevitable change coming that will allow us to train contractors overseas and have them work in our company for 1/5 of the cost. We have encountered more employees who want to get paid significantly more each year to perform the same tasks, many of which have shown entitlement and disrespect toward my husband and I, the owners. We have five contractors already and they are working very hard, are humble, and respectful. I would like prayer on whether we should slowly move toward a workforce that is comprised mostly of contractors. We have heard from more clients that our services are getting expensive, and this change could allow us to be more efficient and cost-effective. Several employees have left to get paid way above market for the same position they had with us if not with less responsibilities, I trust that Jesus has His hand on our business and I don’t want to operate like other businesses do. I also know that we can spread the gospel to our contractors without the barrier of US religious discrimination allegations that Christian employers have to contend with. Ultimately, I ask for God’s grace, favor, and protection in this time of uncertainty for employers and possibilities to help and bringing on foreign contractors and evangelizing to them. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with your request, seeking His wisdom and guidance as you navigate these significant changes in your business. First, we want to affirm your desire to honor God in your decisions and your trust in Jesus’ leadership over your company. It is clear you are seeking to balance stewardship, efficiency, and the Great Commission, and we stand with you in prayer as you seek the Lord’s will in this season.

The challenges you face—rising labor costs, entitlement among employees, and the pressure to remain competitive—are real and growing in today’s world. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is a season to lean heavily on the Lord, not just for business strategy, but for the hearts of those involved. We also recognize your desire to share the gospel with contractors overseas, and we pray that the Lord would open doors for you to do so in a way that honors Him and avoids the legal entanglements that can come with sharing faith in a domestic workplace.

However, we must also bring to light some concerns that weigh on our hearts as we pray. While the financial and operational benefits of transitioning to a contractor-based workforce are evident, we urge you to carefully consider the biblical principles of justice, fairness, and the treatment of workers. Scripture is clear that workers deserve fair wages and respect. James 5:4 warns, *"Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies."* While your current employees may have displayed entitlement or disrespect, we must ask: Are there ways to address these issues without displacing them? Could there be opportunities to disciple and mentor them in humility, work ethic, and respect, rather than replacing them?

We also want to gently challenge the assumption that overseas contractors will always remain humble and respectful. While your current contractors may be a blessing, cultural differences, distance, and the nature of contractor relationships can sometimes lead to challenges in accountability, loyalty, and even exploitation. Proverbs 22:7 says, *"The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender."* While this verse speaks to debt, it also reflects the power dynamics at play in employment relationships. We encourage you to prayerfully consider whether this transition could inadvertently create an imbalance where workers overseas are undervalued or underpaid, even if they are willing to accept lower wages.

That said, we do not dismiss the reality of the pressures you face. The marketplace is changing, and businesses must adapt to survive. We also recognize the unique opportunity you have to share the gospel with individuals who may not otherwise hear it. Acts 1:8 reminds us, *"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."* If the Lord is opening a door for you to minister to contractors overseas, we pray that He would give you wisdom in how to do so effectively and ethically.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and guidance for our sister in Christ as she navigates these changes in her business. Lord, You are the ultimate Provider and the One who directs our steps. We ask that You would give her clarity and peace as she considers the future of her workforce. Father, we pray for Your protection over her business—may it continue to thrive and be a light in the marketplace. We ask that You would soften the hearts of any employees who have shown entitlement or disrespect, and we pray that You would give her and her husband the grace to lead with patience, wisdom, and love.

Lord, we also lift up the contractors overseas who are already working with her. We pray that You would bless them with fair wages, safe working conditions, and opportunities to hear the gospel in a way that transforms their lives. Father, if it is Your will for her to expand this part of her workforce, we ask that You would open doors for her to share Your love and truth with them, free from the barriers that exist in her domestic workplace. May Your name be glorified through her business, and may she always seek to honor You in every decision.

At the same time, Father, we ask that You would guard her heart against any temptation to prioritize efficiency or profit over the well-being of her workers. Help her to see each person—whether an employee or a contractor—as someone created in Your image, deserving of dignity and respect. Give her the wisdom to balance stewardship with compassion, and may she always remember that her ultimate purpose is to glorify You, not just to succeed in business.

Lord, we also pray for the employees who may be affected by these changes. If it is Your will for them to remain with the company, we ask that You would work in their hearts to cultivate humility, gratitude, and a strong work ethic. If their time with the company is coming to an end, we pray that You would provide for them and guide them to their next steps. May Your peace and provision surround them all.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would give her a spirit of discernment as she seeks Your will in this season. May she not be swayed by fear or the pressures of the world, but may she be anchored in Your truth and guided by Your Holy Spirit. We trust that You are working all things together for her good and for Your glory. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

As you move forward, we encourage you to seek the Lord daily in prayer and to surround yourself with godly counsel. Proverbs 15:22 says, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Consider speaking with trusted Christian business leaders or mentors who can offer wisdom and perspective. Additionally, we urge you to continue treating all workers—whether domestic or overseas—with fairness and respect, remembering that the Lord sees and cares about how we steward the resources and people He entrusts to us.

May the Lord bless you and your business abundantly as you seek to honor Him in all things.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are so grateful you entrusted us with this weighty and visionary request. It has been on our hearts to lift up your company, your leadership, and every decision that lies before you. We have prayed specifically for God’s wisdom as you weigh the shift toward a contractor-based workforce, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal the path that aligns with His will rather than mere market pressures. We have asked for clarity regarding timing—whether to move swiftly or proceed with measured steps—so that no one is needlessly hurt and every transition honors the Lord.

We have also prayed for protection over your hearts and minds, that the frustration you’ve felt toward entitled attitudes would be replaced with Christ-like compassion while still upholding godly boundaries. We’ve interceded for favor with your clients, that they would recognize the value you provide even as costs are managed, and for the contractors already serving you, that their diligence and humility would continue to be a testimony of God’s grace.

Most importantly, we have prayed that your desire to share the gospel with these workers would bear lasting fruit. May the Lord open doors for conversations about faith without hindrance, and may every relationship formed through this transition become an opportunity for His kingdom to advance. If any of these prayers have been answered—whether in unexpected peace, a clear sign, or a breakthrough in a specific area—we would love to hear how God is moving.

If the answers still feel distant or the way forward remains uncertain, please know we are committed to standing with you in continued prayer. We will keep lifting up your business, your family, and this vision to expand God’s reach through your work. May He grant you confidence in His provision, boldness in His purpose, and joy in His presence as you seek Him above all else. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus.
