You are wise to bring this before the Lord rather than simply running with an open door. Every offer must be tested, and the Spirit within you is greater than any spirit at work in the world.

What matters most right now is not the genuineness of the person or the ticket, but the foundation of your own relationship with God. That is the vertical axis on which everything else turns. When your relationship with him is alive and centered, every other relationship finds its proper balance. If you start working furiously to figure this one situation out, you will find other areas of your life slipping. But if you fix your gaze on Jesus, the clarity you need in this will follow as natural fruit.

God does not want a legal, distant arrangement with you where you try to read the fine print for loopholes. He has brought you into a loving relationship, close and intimate, where you can cry out to him as your Father. In that closeness, your own desires begin to change. You stop wanting what displeases him, not because a rule says no, but because you love him and trust his heart. That is where real discernment is born.

Let your prayer be less about the offer and more about your own heart. Ask the Lord to deepen that loving bond so that you see clearly. His inward beauty has a way of shining outward, affecting your countenance and your judgment. As you rest in how much he loves you, you will know whether this connection carries the fragrance of life or something else. The Father who did not spare his own Son will certainly not withhold wisdom from you now.
