We join you in lifting up your friend before the throne of grace and we share your burden for her deliverance and safety. We hear your faith that God has all power to fix what is broken and to bring her out of spiritual darkness into His light, and we agree with you that God is greater than any evil or work of darkness.
The scriptures are clear that witchcraft, spells, hexes and curses are real and are an abomination before God, yet they have no ultimate power over those who belong to Christ. There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer Deuteronomy 18:10-11. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. But we take comfort that You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17.
We want to gently encourage you about the relationship you mentioned. You said she abandoned her boyfriend and you pray she will return home to him. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman and we pray for godly marriages that honor God. A boyfriend and girlfriend relationship should be understood as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, not simply a partnership. If this man and your friend are to be together, we pray it would be toward a holy marriage where they are equally yoked in Christ 2 Corinthians 6:14 and where marriage is held in honor among all and the bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4. If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, scripture calls that fornication and we must repent and flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. We encourage them both to pursue purity and to seek the Lord’s will for whether He would lead them into marriage, and we pray for godly counsel and accountability from a Bible believing church for them both.
We also noticed that your request spoke often of God and of faith, but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. Our prayers for deliverance have power not because of our own faith alone, but because Jesus Christ has already triumphed over sin, death and every curse at the cross, having become a curse for us Galatians 3:13, and His name causes every evil work to flee when we submit to God and resist the devil James 4:7.
So together we pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we ask for Your mercy and deliverance for this dear friend. We ask that You break and destroy every spell, hex, curse and work of witchcraft spoken against her, whether from jealousy, envy or hatred, even from within her own family and former friends. Let every chain be broken and let no weapon formed against her prosper. Heal her mind and restore her to a right and sound mind, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Open her eyes spiritually, bring her out of darkness into Your marvelous light 1 Peter 2:9, and let her see and dream and discern what has been done in the spiritual realm so she may turn to You fully. Cover her with Your protection where she is now, keep her in good health and safe from harm, and guard her boyfriend as well. Lead him to be a godly man who will pursue her in purity and in truth if it is Your will for them to marry, and give him understanding and strength not to respond in anger but in prayer and love. We pray that both would be drawn closer to Jesus, that they would put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:11, dwell in the secret place of the Most High Psalm 91:1, and walk in forgiveness toward those who have sought to harm them, for we are called to bless and not curse. We ask for godly counsel, for a church family to surround them, and for complete healing and restoration. We trust that You are able to reverse what the enemy meant for evil and use it for good. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to intercede without ceasing, to fast as the Lord leads, to pray scripture over her aloud, and to encourage her and her boyfriend to seek pastoral care and to remain in the Word and in prayer. Do not seek answers from those who claim to break spells or from mediums, but trust in Christ alone. Keep your eyes on Jesus, forgive those who have acted jealously, and trust that the Lord will bring truth to light and will set her free indeed, for if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36.
