We join you in lifting up ### before the Lord and we thank you for bringing her need to us so we can seek God's will together in Jesus' name.
We do not know the details of why she has needed to take the whole month off from work or what burdens she is carrying, but our Father knows fully and He cares deeply for her well being. We are encouraged by your compassion for your friend and your desire to see her peace restored, for that reflects the love God calls us to show one another.
Scripture reminds us where true peace comes from and how we can find rest when work and life become heavy. We are told in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Jesus Himself says in John 14:27, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. And we are invited in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. We also cling to the promise in 1 Peter 5:7, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and in Isaiah 26:3, You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
We notice your request mentions the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that name matters so much. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Scripture declares in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. So we come to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting in His finished work on the cross and His resurrection, believing that He hears us when we pray in that name.
We pray together now for ###.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up ### to You. You see her, You know the reasons for her absence from work, the pressures she has faced, and the thoughts that weigh on her mind. We ask that You restore to her Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Comfort her where she is anxious, strengthen her where she is weary, and give rest to her soul as only You can. Heal any hurt, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, and let her feel how deeply she is cared for by You. Draw her close to Yourself during this time away, help her to cast all her worries on You, and keep her mind steadfast on You so she may know perfect peace. Give wisdom to those around her, including our friend who prayed for her, to be a gentle and encouraging support and to point her to Your Word and Your presence. We pray that when the time comes for her to return to work or to make decisions about her future, You will guide her steps and provide clarity and renewed strength. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to check on ### with kindness, to listen without pressure, and to remind her that God is near to those who call on Him. Continue to pray for her by name and if you have opportunity, share these promises of peace with her and encourage her to bring every concern to the Lord in prayer. We are trusting with you that the Lord will restore her peace and uphold her in His love.
