Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for honestly sharing your heart and allowing prayer for you in this season of loneliness and anxiety. I have prayed for you, and I continue to pray that God will lift this heaviness and fill you with His own peace.
Scripture makes a distinction that is so important for what you are feeling. First we need peace with God, and that only comes through Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our sins, making peace through His blood. When we trust in Him, the war is over, we are no longer running from God or fighting against Him, and we are forgiven and brought near. Out of that restored relationship, God then wants to give you the peace of God to keep your heart and mind day by day.
That peace is described as perfect peace for the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because he trusts in Him. It is the peace Jesus promised when He said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. It is the peace that passes all understanding that guards our hearts and minds in Christ. The world cannot give it and cannot understand it, especially when outward circumstances are still marked by chaos and struggle. It comes as we turn our thoughts toward the Lord and trust Him to take care of what we cannot control.
If anxiety rises, gently turn your mind again to Him. Remember His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. He has not forgotten you. As you call upon Him and pray, He hears you. As you keep your eyes on Him and trust Him, His peace begins to fill your heart and steady your life.
I also prayed for your desire for friendship and community. God created us for fellowship, and He wants you to know the comfort of faithful friends and a loving community where there is unity and peace. I prayed that He will bring into your life godly friendships with people who will understand you, encourage you, and walk with you in truth, and a healthy community where you are known and supported. And regarding the love of your life, I prayed that if it is His will, He will lead you to a godly lifelong covenant of marriage as He designed it, one man and one woman together for life, centered on Christ and marked by love and faithfulness.
May the Lord Himself ordain peace for you. May He keep you in that complete and steady peace as your mind rests on Him, and may He surround you with people who reflect His love.
Father, I lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. You see the loneliness and the anxiety. First, I thank You for the peace we can have with You through the blood of Jesus. Let that assurance be deep and real today. Then pour out Your peace that passes understanding to guard this heart and mind. Keep this child in perfect peace as trust is placed in You. Provide faithful friends, understanding companions, and a true community of love, and in Your perfect timing and will, provide the kind of godly love that honors You in a lifelong marriage covenant. Let Your healing and Your presence be known in a very personal way. Amen.
