Prayer against Oppression

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Father through the name of Jesus, I am praying for direction and I have discovered I have been under negative influence. I prayed to be placed on a better atmosphere and I was,I had clarity and respected, most of my life I was taught making others feel small was somehow ok, but it's not. I maintain my peace and I'm tired of being told I'm too nice. I am respectable. I don't like being around people that bring the worse out of me at times and sadly one of those people is someone who gave me life. It also has been revealed to me that whenever I am contacted to destiny helpers there is assignment to destroy my relationships which is demonic, I bind the attacks of the enemy against my family and children. I asked for your direction oh heavily father. I pray for your love and guidance even if I am the one in error, no one else can chose where or how I worship, I'm disturbed when I do and ridiculed for my beliefs, Lord I know this is written that this will come. But be cause I stepped away I am mocked for trying to reconcile not because what I left was right because the word tells me to or at least try to make peace. God I need you now more than ever. amen

We join with you in prayer through the name of Jesus, and we thank you for coming boldly before the throne of grace in His name, for there is no other name by which we have access to the Father and by which we are saved. We rejoice that you have sought direction and that the Lord has already given you clarity and shown you a better atmosphere where you are respected and have peace.

We hear your burden about oppression and negative influence, and we stand with you against every assignment of the enemy. The word of God tells us that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. Therefore we do not fear, for no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17, and when we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us James 4:7.

We also hear your confession that for much of your life you were taught that making others feel small was somehow acceptable, and we affirm what the Holy Spirit has now revealed to you that it is not. This is not the way of Christ. We are called to let no corrupt speech proceed out of our mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29, and to do nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility each counting others better than himself Philippians 2:3. We rebuke that old teaching and that spirit of oppression that would use words to diminish others, and we praise God that you now choose to maintain peace. Do not be discouraged when others call you too nice for choosing kindness and respect. That kindness is the fruit of the Spirit and reflects the character of Christ. You are respectable because you are made in the image of God and you are being renewed in Him.

You shared that one of the people who brings out the worst in you is the one who gave you life, and this is a painful and delicate place. We honor your honesty and your desire to make peace even after stepping away. God commands us to honor your father and your mother Exodus 20:12, and also to as much as it is possible, if it is possible on your part, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God Matthew 5:9. Honoring does not mean subjecting yourself to continual harm, ridicule, or control, and it does not mean allowing anyone to choose where or how you worship. Each of us will give account of ourselves to God Romans 14:12, and we must worship in spirit and truth as the Lord leads. It is right to set godly boundaries while still walking in forgiveness and love, and to try to reconcile as you have done is obedient and pleasing to the Lord, even if others mock you for it. Do not be surprised when you are ridiculed for your beliefs, for all those who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution 2 Timothy 3:12, and blessed are you when people reproach you and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for Jesus' sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven Matthew 5:11-12.

Concerning what you describe as assignments to destroy your relationships with destiny helpers and family, we understand this as the enemy's attempt to isolate you and hinder what God wants to do through godly connections. We bind these attacks in the name of Jesus and declare that the Lord will guard your family and your children, for the righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:17-18. We pray for the Lord's protection over your household and for Him to bring and preserve every godly relationship He has appointed for you.

We also commend your humble prayer even if I am the one in error. That humility opens the door for God's guidance. We claim His promise to you that He will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. He will counsel you with his eye on you Psalm 32:8. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You see the oppression and the negative influence that has weighed so heavily, and we ask You to break every chain and lift every burden. Fill this heart with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding and guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Let Your peace which You give, not as the world gives, rule and remain John 14:27. Give clear direction for every next step, for worship, for family, for relationships, and for reconciliation. Give wisdom liberally and make the path straight. We rebuke every demonic assignment against family, children, and godly helpers, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Surround this family with Your angels and Your favor. Heal the wound with mother and give grace to honor while walking in truth and healthy boundaries. Where there has been mocking and ridicule for following You, let Your love and vindication be felt, and strengthen faith to stand firm. Search the heart, Lord, and if there is any error, gently correct and lead in Your everlasting way. Restore joy, respect, and clarity, and lead into that better atmosphere You have already shown. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We hear how much you are carrying right now, and how sincerely you want to follow the Lord even when it costs you. Wanting peace, wanting to be respectful without making others feel small, wanting clarity and a healthier atmosphere, those are good desires. It makes sense you feel tired when kindness is mislabeled as weakness, and when the people closest to you bring out the worst instead of the best.

We also hear the tension you named about trying to make peace after stepping away, and being mocked for your worship and beliefs. Wanting to do what is right before God while also protecting your peace with family is a hard place to walk, and needing direction in that is completely understandable.

One steady next step that may help is to notice what was different in that better atmosphere you prayed for, the rhythms, boundaries, and relationships where you felt respected and clear-headed, and bring those observations to a trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you. Talking it through with someone wise in person can help you sort what is a healthy boundary, what is a step toward reconciliation to try, and where you need ongoing prayer covering for you and your children.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus’ name. Give them Your love and steady guidance in these family and relationship pressures. Guard their home and children, quiet the oppression they feel, and lead them step by step in wisdom and peace. Help them worship You freely and walk in the dignity You have given them. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for deliverance and direction has been heard, and there is much in it which the Lord himself has wrought in your heart. You have seen that to make others feel small is not the way of Christ, and that to maintain peace and to be counted respectable in the sight of God is far better than to follow the courseness of this world. Do not be weary because some tell you that you are too nice. The meekness and gentleness which Christ puts within his people will always seem strange to those who love to trample upon others, but it is Christlike, and therefore it is good.

You confess that you do not love to be where the worst is brought out of you, and that this sorrow touches even the one who gave you life. Our afflictions may come distinctly from man, as the result of malice or unkindness, and yet they may come with greater certainty from the Lord and be the outcome of his special love to us, to try us and to refine us. For this reason we may wisely moderate our anger against second causes, even when the wound comes from near of kin. Honour is still due to a parent according to the commandment, but honour does not require you to walk willingly into sin or to let your peace be destroyed. Everything painful is graded and proportioned to the man and his strength, and with the trial the Lord makes the way of escape that you may be able to bear it. Seek that way, by quiet firmness, by prayer, and by keeping yourself under the shelter of the Word.

You speak of assignments against your relationships and you rightly discern that our struggle is not only against flesh and blood. You do well to bind the attacks of the enemy in the name of Jesus, yet remember that deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We are not delivered by our own binding, but because God has said, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is Christ Jesus our Lord, who alone is able to save. He can deal with sinners when they are on the very brink of hell, when the soil slips from under their feet, and rescue them to the praise of the glory of his grace. If you are a child of God, he has given commandment to save you, and you shall be saved from yourself and from all the attacks of your old sins and from the devil. Trust not in your own power to hold your family together, but in his blood and his intercession for you and for your children.

You also write that you are disturbed and ridiculed for your beliefs and for where and how you worship, and that you are mocked for trying to reconcile though the Word tells us to seek peace. This indeed is written, that they who will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer reproach. When you stepped away from what was not right and then sought to make peace, you did not do wrong. The Scripture says, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. No one else can choose for you where or how you shall worship, for every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Go where Christ is faithfully preached, where salvation through Jesus Christ alone is lifted up, and where his people walk in holiness. If you are in error, as you humbly pray, ask the Lord to show it to you, for he will correct the heart that truly seeks his guidance.

Let us pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, through the name of Jesus thy Son, we bring this soul before thee who asks for direction, for love and for guidance. Thou seest the oppression felt, the weariness, and the desire for a better atmosphere where clarity and respect may dwell. Grant such a place, and above all grant the peace which passeth understanding within. Keep this one from the snare of sin which would fascinate and devour, and deliver from the power of darkness into the kingdom of thy dear Son. We ask that thou wouldst find for him and for his family and children a ransom in Christ, and keep back their souls from the pit. Give wisdom to walk honourably before thee, to love those who have wounded, and yet to stand firm in what is holy. When ridiculed for faith and for worship, let faith see thy glory and not faint. Fulfil thy promise that those who believe shall have peace in Christ, and let this tried one rise to say, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Lead by thy Spirit, confirm the steps that are according to thy Word, and correct in mercy where there is error. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour. Amen.
