Your honest and broken cry has been heard and brought before the Lord with care. Thank you for speaking so plainly about the struggle with porn, the hidden devices, the distance you feel from God, the sleeplessness, the heaviness in your head, and the sense of being under attack. God is not far from those who call on Him in truth, even when you feel far from Him.

What you describe about hiding devices is a right and necessary step, but freedom will require more than only removing one thing. To be set free we must also cultivate the other parts of a faithful life, a careful hearing of God's Word and a continual remembering of it, fortitude, and a turning away from worldly things that ensnare us. One part alone is not enough for our health. The Lord wants to heal the whole person, not only to take away a habit but to build up virtue and strength in its place.

You also speak of feeling alone, down, worthless, and under attack. The enemy most confidently assails us when we are alone and by ourselves, just as he came to Eve when she was apart. When we are banded together with other believers, he is less confident to attack. For this reason you have great need to not remain isolated with hidden screens, but to be flocking together continually with the church, in fellowship, in hearing the Word, in honest accountability with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk with you. Do not face this battle in secret.

You are not worthless. Though sin makes us feel ashamed and raving and lost, like one who has made his own senses into sewers, the gospel declares two great works of Christ for you, deliverance from evil and supply of good. He delivers from the curse and power of sin and He brings you into sonship, so that you receive the Spirit of adoption. Your value is not in your feelings but in the love of God shown at the cross, where Christ gave Himself for you. Love is the greatest virtue, and it is that love that can now bombard you and heal you as you have asked.

Know too that healing often comes like the work of a physician. A physician does not give up after one treatment, and a tree that has received ten strokes may not fall until the final blow, yet that last blow succeeds because of all that came before. In the same way, do not despair if you have heard the Word many times and still struggle, or if you have prayed many times and still feel heavy. God is still applying His medicine. Even when we are weighed down exceedingly beyond our power, He is able to deliver, and He uses our affliction to teach us to rely not on ourselves but on Him. Keep hearing, keep praying, keep coming, even to the very gates of distress, for it is possible even there to lay hold on eternal life. One hearing after many may bear abundant fruit.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You through Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is our salvation. Have mercy and grant deliverance from the power of porn and from every hidden snare. Give strength to remove what causes stumbling and grace to walk in purity. Draw near to him even as he feels far from You, and let Your love bombard his heart and heal his wounds. We ask for help from heaven, for peace in his head, for sleep at night, and for protection from the attacks of the enemy. Surround him with faithful brothers and sisters so he is not left alone, fill him with Your Word daily, and restore to him the assurance that he is Your child, not worthless but bought with the blood of Christ. Give fortitude to persevere and bring forth fruit in due season. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Please do not remain alone in this. Seek a local pastor or elder this week, confess the struggle, ask for regular accountability and prayer, and stay in the Word and in fellowship each day. God is faithful to complete the healing He has begun.
