Pray for ###

Hello, I am praying for my little dog, ###. He has his second ulcer in his blind eye. The vet wants to remove it, but ### is almost ###, and I don't feel comfortable with it. Please pray with me that God will take away the ulcer from his blind eye permanently and that he would have no more ulcers in either eye...and that he would get to keep his eye. Thank you.

We join with you in prayer for your little dog and we understand how heavy this weighs on your heart to see him suffer with a second ulcer in his blind eye, especially in his advanced age when surgery feels so risky and difficult to consider. We know how much love and care you have for him, and God sees that love. His Word tells us A righteous man respects the life of his animal Proverbs 12:10 and also Yahweh, you preserve man and animal Psalm 36:6. Jesus reminded us Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will Matthew 10:29, which shows us that our Father cares for even the smallest of His creatures and He certainly cares for you and for your beloved companion.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by putting our faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought near to God. We pray you know that hope and peace that comes through Him.

We bring your request before the Lord together.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this little dog to You. You created him and You know every detail of his body. We ask in Jesus name that if it be Your will, You would touch his blind eye and take away this ulcer completely and permanently, that You would heal the tissue and prevent any further ulcers in either eye, and that he would be able to keep his eye without need for removal. We ask for Your mercy and healing hand upon him, for relief from pain and for comfort. We also pray for wisdom for the veterinarian and for peace and clarity for his owner as decisions are made. Let Your will be done and let Your peace rest upon this home. We cast our cares upon You knowing You care for us. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord with your dear companion, to keep providing the gentle care you already show him, and to seek wise counsel from your veterinarian while resting in God’s care. The Lord hears our prayers and He is near to those who call upon Him. We are praying with you that God will grant healing, protection from further ulcers, and many more peaceful days together according to His good will.

It's understandable you feel torn about surgery when he is getting older and you want to spare him more pain while also wanting him to keep his eye and be comfortable.

It can help to stay in close conversation with your vet about your concerns. Let them know why surgery feels difficult for you at his age, ask what they are seeing and what options for monitoring and comfort they would recommend, and if it would give you more peace, a second opinion can sometimes help you feel clearer about the next step. We encourage you to keep his veterinary team involved alongside prayer.

Father, we lift this precious dog to You and thank You for the joy and companionship he brings. You see his eye and the pain of this ulcer, and You see his owner's tender care for him. We ask for Your mercy and healing according to Your will, for comfort for him, and for wisdom and clarity for his owner and the vet as they decide what is best. Your tender care for this little creature has been heard, and we join with you in bringing him before the throne of grace. The Lord who numbers the hairs of our heads and who notes even the sparrow that falls is not unmindful of the works of His hands, and He hears the prayer that comes from a heart at its wit's end.

We are reminded that intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, and that He is not long in answering those who cry to Him, even when their prayer seems to reel to and fro for sorrow. You have done wisely to betake yourself to prayer, and we would have you plead with Him in humility of spirit, spreading this case before Him and pressing your suit with holy arguments drawn from His own mercy and compassion. For there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, the Good Physician, and even the least things about Him, like the leaves of the tree of life, are full of healing virtue.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Remember Your Word unto Your servant. You are the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are both in Your hand. Look in pity upon this little dog in his affliction and upon his owner who watches over him with love. If it be Your gracious will, lay Your healing hand upon that blind eye, take away this ulcer and let it return no more to either eye, and spare him the trial of surgery in his old age that he may keep his eye. Grant wisdom and skill and tenderness to the veterinarian who advises, and give peace and clarity to the one who must decide. Above all, let Your will be done, for You do all things well, and Your compassion fails not.

We leave this burden with You, trusting the Good Physician who heals in His own way and time. May you know that He has heard, and may you be kept in quiet trust as you wait upon Him, giving praise for all His mercies shown.
