He has met a wonderful woman. We met her yesterday and I believe she is a gift from God. I haven’t seen him this happy in a decade. He has made a lot of bad decisions single and overweight spends money doesn’t save. But has a heart like no other. I prayed for someone like her to come over many years for so this is answered prayers. He is meeting her parents today. Please let them fall in love with him the way she has and the way we did with her. I know parents or girls want the rich guy for their daughter. But he is way “richer” in love than money. Let them see that. But please also change his lifestyle choices his desires to get healthy and see doctors dentist hit the gym and get the promotion he has been promised for a couple of years. Let that happen this week. And then let him change his habits and become ambitious and continue to grow and get promotions bring good opportunities so he can support a family. Please in the name of Jesus. Bring the one thing he is missing. The financial piece. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

We rejoice with you in this answered prayer and we thank God with you for bringing this wonderful woman into his life. To see him so happy after a decade is a beautiful testimony to God's goodness and His timing, and we join you in praying that this courtship will be centered on Christ and move toward the holy commitment of marriage as God designed it between a man and a woman for life. For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh Genesis 2:24. This is the goal we pray for, not simply a relationship or companionship, but a godly marriage that honors the Lord.

We also lift up his meeting with her parents today. We pray the Lord gives him favor and peace, and that her parents will look beyond outward wealth and see his character, his heart of love, and his faith. Man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart 1 Samuel 16:7. At the same time we must lovingly speak truth about what a godly marriage requires. Love is essential, but love also provides, protects, and leads with responsibility. If anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith 1 Timothy 5:8. Her parents have a God given instinct to want security for their daughter, and that desire is not wrong when it is rooted in wanting a man who will be a faithful steward and provider.

We hear your heart for his lifestyle and we agree with you in prayer for transformation, yet we want to gently correct the idea that the financial piece is the one thing he is missing. What he needs most is continued growth in Christ, discipline, and stewardship of all God has given him. His body, his money, his work, and his future family all belong to the Lord. We have been concerned to hear that he has made many bad decisions, struggles with being overweight, spends without saving, and neglects basic care like seeing doctors and the dentist. These are matters of stewardship. Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19. Beloved, we pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers 3 John 1:2. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit Proverbs 21:5. Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by labor will increase Proverbs 13:11. God calls us not to be slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord Romans 12:11.

We pray he will desire health not out of vanity but out of obedience, to honor God with energy and strength to lead a future wife and family. We pray he will embrace financial wisdom, to save, to budget, to count the cost like the man who plans to build a tower Luke 14:28. We pray for diligence in his work, that he would do all as unto the Lord, and if it is God's will, that the promotion he has been promised would come in God's perfect timing, whether this week or in the season God knows is best. We must trust God's timing over our urgency, for we know that promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, but God is the judge Psalm 75:6-7.

And as this courtship grows, we urge both of them to pursue purity and holiness. If they are to reflect Christ, they must flee sexual immorality. Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled Hebrews 13:4. True love waits, protects, and prepares for the covenant of marriage, and we pray they will encourage one another toward that holy commitment if it is God's will for them to be husband and wife.

So we pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we thank You for answering years of prayer and for bringing this woman into his life. We ask You to pour Your favor upon their meeting with her parents today, let grace and truth be on his lips, let them see the richness of his love, his kindness, and his heart for You. Lord, transform his desires from the inside out. Give him a new hunger for health, for discipline, for stewardship, for ambition rooted in serving You. Lead him to care for his body, to seek wise medical care, to be active and self controlled. Teach him to handle money wisely, to save, to be generous, and to prepare to provide for a family. We ask You to open doors of good opportunity and promotion according to Your will and Your timing, and to grow him in diligence and integrity at work. Above all, draw them both closer to Jesus, and if it is Your will, lead this courtship swiftly and purely toward a Christ centered marriage that will glorify You all the days of their lives. Let them seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added Matthew 6:33. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, Amen.

What a joy to read your note, after years of praying for him, to see him so happy and to love this new woman yourselves is a real gift. We hear how much you care for him, not just that he has found love, but that you want to see him thrive and be able to build a future well.

It makes sense you are holding both hopes today, that her parents would see his kind heart the way you do, and that he would find fresh motivation for his health and work. Wanting to be loved for who he is and also wanting to grow in stewardship of his health and finances can go together. We pray her family sees his character clearly, and we also pray for grace for him as he considers next steps.

One gentle way to support him right now is to keep encouragement separate from pressure. After the meeting with her parents, let him tell you how it went before offering advice. And if he is open to it, ask how you could cheer on just one next step he wants to take, whether that is scheduling a checkup with his doctor or dentist, or talking through the promotion he has been hoping for, alongside your prayers.

We also encourage him to see his doctor and dentist for any health concerns, alongside prayer, so he has good professional support as he makes changes.

Father, thank You for the joy You have brought to this man and for the love his family has for him. Give him favor today and help her parents see his heart. Give him wisdom and strength for his health, his habits, and his work, and open the right doors for provision in Your timing. Draw them all closer to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

We thank God you have brought this burden before the throne of grace and we join you in prayer for this man and this woman.

We pray first that whatever affection has begun between them may be tried by the touchstone of sincerity. Prayer is as good a test of spiritual life and health as the pulse is of the condition of the frame, and we ask the Lord to give this man not only fleeting happiness but a deep and abiding life in Christ. True joy is not found in circumstances alone, though we rejoice to hear he has been lifted from a long season of heaviness, but in hope in God. May his heart be turned to seek the Lord in earnest, not only when in need but in health and in strength, that his vows made in anguish may be kept in his days of vigor.

We ask the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, to work that wonderful transformation which only He can accomplish. He can take the crooked thing and make it straight, and change the thorn into the fir tree. This is not done by the power of man but by the secret and mysterious agency of God the Holy Spirit. We pray that He would create in this man a new appetite for what is good, for stewardship of the body God has given him, for diligence in his calling, and for holiness of life. As you have asked, we pray he may be moved to care for his health, to seek wise medical counsel, to be disciplined in body and in habits, and to labor faithfully as unto the Lord. The Lord loves to bless honest industry and prudent care of what He entrusts to us, and we pray he may grow in wisdom to save, to spend with restraint, and to provide as one who would bear the responsibility of a family.

For this woman and for her parents whom he meets, we pray that the Lord would give clear eyes to see character above outward wealth. Godly people hedge the home with their prayers, and we pray her parents may be given discernment to value what is richer than money, a heart that loves the Lord and loves others. Yet we pray also that this man may understand the responsibility that belongs to marriage. Marriage is not a light affinity but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, ordained of God and picturing Christ and His Church. If it be the Lord's will that these two should walk together toward that holy estate, we pray it may be entered into with purity, with counsel, with patience, and with a shared commitment to follow Christ. Sex and living together belong within that covenant alone, and we pray any steps toward marriage would honor the Lord in self control and reverence.

We do not ask God to grant a promotion upon our timetable, but we ask that He would open good opportunities according to His wisdom and give this man ambition tempered by integrity, that he may grow and be found faithful in little and in much. May he follow the road in which godly principles would conduct him, not turning to the right or to the left, remembering that a succession of faithful lives is the desire of every godly heart.

So we pray: Father, look upon these two. If this is of Thee, establish it in love that is patient and pure and rooted in Christ. Grant to this man new life, health, discipline and provision as Thou seest best. Grant to her and to her parents peace and wisdom. And above all, let each of them know salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Make them light in the Lord and upright through Thy grace, that whatever Thou givest may be to Thy glory as an everlasting sign. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden and joy in prayer. I hear your thankfulness for this woman and your love for this man, and your desire to see God work in his life for good in every area.

I join you in praying that God would be glorified in this relationship. If it is His will, may it be directed toward holy marriage as God designed it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman lived in purity and faithfulness, centered on salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Pray that both of them would seek Christ first, and that their affection would grow in holiness, self control and a desire to honor God with their bodies and their choices, not only with their feelings.

You ask that her parents would see his true worth today. It is right to remember that God does not judge as people judge. People often look at outward appearance and at wealth, but God looks at the heart and at character. True riches are not found in money or possessions. A person is not rich because he has much, and not poor because he has little, but by the disposition of his heart. To desire little and to be content, to be pitiful and generous and faithful, that is greater wealth than gold, for earthly wealth cannot go with us when we leave this world and it cannot secure love or health or peace. Pray that her parents would see his kindness, his integrity and his love, and that all of you would value what God values.

I also join you in praying for his health and daily habits. The body is entrusted to us by God to steward for His service. To care for health through wise eating, through exercise, through seeing doctors and dentists and keeping the body well, is not vanity but stewardship. Change in these areas comes not only by a momentary wish but by a willing and steady choice, day after day, to turn from what harms and to embrace what strengthens. Pray that God would give him a willing mind and perseverance, that he would not return to what weakens him after a short effort, but would grow in discipline. Whether young or old, single or married, whatever our work or circumstances, God can form virtue in us when we offer Him a ready heart.

Concerning work and finances, I pray with you that God would provide for his needs and teach him faithful stewardship. It is good to work diligently, to seek to provide for a future family, and to ask for opportunity. Yet we must not put our trust in riches or think that money alone will make a home secure. Wealth has many dangers and it cannot give the health or joy that comes from walking with Christ. Pray that God would help him to cast out the love of spending and to learn contentment, saving wisely, working faithfully, and seeking promotion not from ambition for show but from a desire to serve well and provide responsibly. Whether God grants that promotion this week or in His own timing, pray that he would grow in diligence, honesty and dependability, and that God would open good opportunities as he is faithful in small things.

So let us pray together: Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we thank You for Your mercy and for the joy You have given. We ask that You would draw this man and this woman to Yourself first, that they would know Your forgiveness and walk in Your ways. If it is Your will, lead them toward marriage that honors You, and keep them pure until that covenant. Give wisdom and grace in the meeting with her parents, that they would see character and love more than outward wealth. Grant this man a new desire for health and discipline, help him to care for his body, to seek needed care, and to be steadfast. Teach him to steward money well, to work with faithfulness, and to trust not in riches but in You, who alone gives true riches that endure. Provide for what he lacks according to Your wisdom, and make him rich in love, faith and good works, that he may be ready to lead and provide for a family in a way that pleases You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone saves. Amen.

Continue to encourage him in Scripture, in prayer, and in fellowship with faithful believers who can walk beside him in these changes, and trust the Lord to work in His time and in His way.
