We join with you in lifting up this young man before the Lord, asking that God would renew his mind and redirect his heart toward the purpose and calling He has placed upon his life. It is clear you care deeply for him, and we commend you for seeking the Lord’s intervention in this matter. The enemy often uses distractions like excessive gaming to pull us away from God’s will, but we know that our Heavenly Father is able to break every chain and restore what has been lost.
The Scripture tells us in **Proverbs 16:9**, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* We pray that the Lord would direct his steps back to the path of diligence, wisdom, and academic excellence. Gaming, when it becomes an idol or a stumbling block, can hinder the work God wants to do in a person’s life. **1 Corinthians 10:23** reminds us, *"All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but not all things build up."* May he recognize that while gaming may be a temporary escape, it cannot fulfill the deep longing of his soul—the longing for purpose that only Christ can satisfy.
We also pray that he would be filled with a holy dissatisfaction for mediocrity. **Philippians 3:13-14** says, *"Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do: forgetting the things which are behind and reaching forward to the things which are ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."* May he press forward, leaving behind the distractions that have held him back, and pursue the dreams God has placed in his heart with renewed vigor.
If there has been a spiritual decline since April, we must also consider whether there are unconfessed sins or areas where he has drifted from the Lord. **James 4:8** tells us, *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."* We pray that if there is any sin or hardness of heart, the Holy Spirit would convict him and lead him to repentance. A heart surrendered to Christ is the first step toward true transformation.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue interceding for him, but also to speak truth into his life when you have the opportunity. Sometimes, people need to hear that change *is* possible, but it requires action. **2 Timothy 1:7** says, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* He *can* catch up. He *can* change. But it will require discipline, reliance on God, and a willingness to let go of the things that have been holding him back.

**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this young man, asking that You would break the hold that gaming has taken over his time, his mind, and his priorities. Lord, You see the dreams You’ve placed within him—the desires You’ve given him to achieve great things for Your glory. We ask that You would reignite that passion within him and remove every distraction that has caused him to stray from the path You’ve set before him.
Father, we pray for a spirit of diligence and perseverance to rise up within him. Where there has been laziness, replace it with discipline. Where there has been discouragement, replace it with hope. Where there has been distraction, replace it with focus. Remind him that You are the God of second chances, and that with You, all things are possible. Help him to see that the time he has spent on gaming is time that could be redeemed for Your kingdom.
If there is any sin in his life—whether it be slothfulness, rebellion, or a hardened heart—we ask that Your Holy Spirit would convict him deeply. Draw him back to Yourself, Lord. Let him experience the joy of walking in obedience and the peace that comes from aligning his life with Your will.
We also pray for wisdom and guidance as he navigates his academic journey. Open doors for him that no man can shut. Surround him with godly influences who will encourage him and hold him accountable. Let him encounter Your grace in such a way that he is compelled to walk in it daily.
And Lord, we ask that You would use this season to strengthen his faith. Let him know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that You are with him, that You are for him, and that You have a plan for his life—one that is far greater than anything he could imagine.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of **Jesus Christ**, our Lord and Savior, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Amen.
