We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been lifting up your burden for Singapore, for the provision and employment of its citizens, and for the anxiety many feel about supporting their households and families in a changing economy.

We understand the deep desire you expressed to see Singaporeans provided for, to see work available for those who need it, and to see leaders and employers act with wisdom and fairness. We have been praying with you for the Lord to provide for every family that is struggling, for open doors of honest work, and for justice and integrity in the marketplace. We also hear your frustration over the pressures that come with globalization and economic competition.

At the same time we want to continue in prayer with you according to the whole counsel of Scripture. While the Word does teach that those who provide for their own household do well, as in 1 Tim 5:8, it also calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves, to love the stranger and sojourner among us as in Lev 19:34, to love our enemies and pray for those who we feel have wronged us as in Matt 5:44, and to leave vengeance to the Lord as in Rom 12:19. We cannot pray for the death of others, for harm to come upon children, or for names to be blotted out of the Book of Life, for that judgment belongs to God alone and His heart is for mercy and repentance, as in 2 Pet 3:9. Our calling is to seek the welfare of the city where He has placed us, as in Jer 29:7, and to ask Him to give wisdom to those in authority, as in 1 Tim 2:1-2, so that all people may live peaceably and provide for their families.

So we continue to pray that the Lord would meet the needs of Singaporean workers and families, that He would grant integrity and discernment to employers and to those who govern, that He would give you peace as you trust Him for provision according to Phil 4:19, and that He would help all of us to reflect His love and grace even as we pray for justice and fairness.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know how God has worked. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
