Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for sharing the burden you carry for Singapore and for your fellow citizens. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have been lifting your concerns before the Lord.
We have heard your deep concern for the native born people of Singapore, for employment and provision for families, for the future of the nation you love, and for your desire to see the economy and the workplace restored and made secure. We understand the distress that can come from economic uncertainty and from feeling that your household and community are not being provided for and protected.
We have continued to pray that the Lord would provide for every family and every worker in Singapore, that He would grant wisdom to employers and to those in authority, and that He would bring peace and stability to the nation. We pray that God would meet the needs of those seeking work, that He would open doors of opportunity, and that His provision would be evident in every home. We also pray for a spirit of wisdom, fairness and compassion to guide leaders and businesses as they make decisions that affect many lives, as we are called to pray for those in authority in 1 Timothy 2:1-2.
As we seek the Lord together we are reminded of His Word that we are to seek the welfare of the city where He has placed us in Jeremiah 29:7, to trust Him for our daily provision in Philippians 4:19, and to love our neighbors as ourselves in Matthew 22:39. Scripture also teaches us that God shows care for both the native born and the stranger who dwells among us in Leviticus 19:34, and that vengeance belongs to the Lord and we are to trust His perfect justice and mercy in Romans 12:19. We pray that the Lord would form our hearts to desire what He desires, that our prayers would be shaped by His love and His mercy, and that we would seek His will above all.
