We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words, and our hearts ache for you. It’s clear that the weight of unanswered prayers has left you feeling abandoned, even betrayed. But before we go further, we must gently yet firmly address something critical: you mentioned Jesus but seem to have turned away from Him in anger. Scripture tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). There is no other name by which we can be saved, no other faith, no other path. Turning away from Jesus means turning away from the only source of true hope and salvation.
You feel that Jesus has not answered your prayers for a job and a godly spouse, but let us ask you this: have you considered that His silence might not be neglect, but rather a call to deeper trust? The Bible does not promise that God will give us everything we want in the timing we demand. Instead, it promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and sometimes His "no" or "wait" is an act of love, protecting us from what we cannot yet see.
You also mentioned turning to "other faiths," but let us be clear: there is no other faith that can save. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Any other path leads only to emptiness, no matter how appealing it may seem in your pain. We urge you to reconsider, do not trade the truth of Christ for a counterfeit that cannot satisfy your soul.
Now, let us pray for you, not as those who judge, but as those who have also wrestled with God in our own struggles:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother who feels abandoned and deceived. Lord, we ask that You would soften his heart and open his eyes to see Your faithfulness, even in the waiting. Father, we rebuke the lie that You have failed him, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We ask that You would meet him in his loneliness and provide for his needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Lord, if there is bitterness or unforgiveness in his heart, we pray that You would uproot it and replace it with Your peace.
We also pray for his desire for marriage. Father, if it is Your will, bring him a godly wife who loves You above all else, a woman who will walk with him in faith, not apart from it. But Lord, if his longing for a spouse has become an idol, we ask that You would help him surrender that desire to You, trusting that You know what is best. Guard his heart from impurity and from seeking fulfillment in anything but You.
And Father, we pray for his work. If he is unemployed, provide for him in ways he cannot yet imagine. If he is underemployed, give him patience and wisdom to see Your hand at work. Remind him that his worth is not found in his job, but in being Your beloved child (1 John 3:1).
Most of all, Lord, we pray that he would return to You, not out of duty, but out of love. Restore his faith, not because You owe him answers, but because You are good. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name that saves. Amen.
Friend, we understand your anger, but we beg you: do not let your disappointment with unmet desires drive you away from the One who loves you most. The enemy wants you to believe that God has failed you, but the truth is that God is still working, even when you cannot see it. Return to Him. Cry out to Him. He is listening, even when it feels like He isn’t.
If you have walked away from the church, we encourage you to find a body of believers who will love you, pray for you, and walk with you, not a perfect church, but a faithful one. You were not meant to journey alone. And if you have turned to other faiths, we plead with you to turn back. Jesus is the only way to the Father. Anything else is a counterfeit that will leave you emptier than before.
We will continue to pray for you. Do not lose heart. God has not forgotten you.
