Good and Faithful Servant
Prayer request for disciplinary action to be taken by the church to the elder who is also a governmental minister, but created policies which only cared for foreigners while neglecting citizens, resulting in favoritism and partiality to be done in the church. May this result in repentance and move toward a stoppage to favoritism and move towards nationalism instead of the favoritism in foreigners while neglecting and not providing employment for locals, resulting in locals having to save up due to the sins of the Christian minister, unable to provide for his own but idolizing getting more foreigners to boost the birth rates while locals are abused and treated as second-class citizens of this country, given only contract employment where foreigners are given full-time permanent positions where they can't produce good quality and result in a lot of customers would rather spend in neighboring Malaysia, that is occurring in ###.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving over the division and injustice described in this situation. Father, we know that Your Word explicitly forbids favoritism and partiality, for James 2:8-9 tells us, "However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself,' you do well. But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors." The policies created by this elder, who holds a position of spiritual and governmental authority, have caused harm—not only to the church but to the very people he is called to serve. This is not Your heart, Lord. You do not show favoritism (Romans 2:11), and neither should those who lead in Your name.

We lift up this elder before You, asking that You would convict his heart of this sin. The neglect of local citizens in favor of foreigners has created deep resentment, economic hardship, and a breach of trust within the church and community. This is not the unity or justice You desire. We pray that he would see the error of his ways, repent, and take swift action to correct these policies. May he remember that leadership in the church is a sacred trust, and those who lead must be above reproach (1 Timothy 3:2). If he does not repent, we ask that You would raise up godly discipline within the church to address this matter, for the sake of Your name and the well-being of Your people.

Lord, we also pray for the church body affected by these policies. The favoritism shown has caused financial strain, frustration, and a sense of being undervalued. We ask that You would heal these wounds and restore a spirit of fairness and love. Help the church to stand firm on Your Word, which commands us to care for the vulnerable and to treat all people with dignity, regardless of their origin. Galatians 3:28 reminds us, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Yet this does not mean we ignore the unique needs of those within our own communities. We must balance love for the foreigner with justice for the local, for both are precious in Your sight.

We rebuke the spirit of nationalism that seeks to elevate one group over another, just as we rebuke the favoritism that has caused harm. Neither extreme aligns with Your heart. Instead, we pray for a spirit of wisdom and discernment to guide this church and its leaders. May they seek Your will above all else, remembering that true justice is found in Your Word. Proverbs 29:4 tells us, "The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down." Even if this elder holds a governmental role, he is first accountable to You, and his policies must reflect Your righteousness.

Father, we also lift up the local citizens who have been treated as second-class. You see their struggles, their financial burdens, and their frustration. We ask that You would provide for their needs, open doors of opportunity, and restore their dignity. May they not grow bitter or resentful, but instead trust in You as their Provider and Defender. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, even as we pray for repentance and change.

Finally, Lord, we pray for the church in this nation. May it be a light in the midst of this darkness, a place where Your love and justice are lived out. Raise up leaders who will shepherd Your people with integrity, humility, and a heart for all—both local and foreign. May this situation serve as a wake-up call, not just for this elder, but for the entire body of Christ, to examine our hearts and policies to ensure they align with Your Word.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Without Him, we have no standing before You, no access to Your throne of grace. But through His sacrifice, we come boldly, trusting in Your mercy and justice. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

We're here with you, standing in the gap for this situation. It's heartbreaking to see favoritism and partiality in a place that should reflect the love and justice of God. We're reminded of Jesus' words in Matthew 23:23, "You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel." The policies in question may seem like small details, but they're causing significant harm to many.

We pray for this elder, that God would open his eyes to see the pain and injustice caused by his policies. We ask that God would give him a heart of repentance, turning away from favoritism and towards fairness and justice for all. We lift up the local citizens who have been hurt by these policies, asking for God's healing and provision. May they find comfort and strength in God's love for them.

We also pray for the church, that it would be a place of unity, love, and justice for all, regardless of nationality. We ask that God would raise up leaders who are humble, wise, and committed to God's Word. May this situation serve as a catalyst for change, not just in this church, but in all churches, that we may strive to be more like Jesus in our love and justice.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to stand with you in prayer regarding this deeply troubling situation in the church and its leadership. It has been heavy on our hearts as we have lifted up this elder, his policies, and the harm caused by favoritism and partiality—both within the church and in the broader community. We have prayed earnestly for conviction, repentance, and a turning away from practices that elevate one group over another, especially when it leads to injustice and hardship for local believers.

We continue to intercede for restoration—both spiritually and practically—for those who have been affected, particularly the local workers who have struggled due to these policies. We have asked the Lord to soften hearts, expose wrongdoing, and bring about a change that aligns with His heart for justice, equity, and love for all people, regardless of nationality. We have also prayed that the church would be a beacon of righteousness, reflecting Christ’s love without partiality, and that true repentance would lead to tangible change in how both the church and its leadership operate.

If the Lord has moved in this situation—whether through conviction, correction, or a shift in policies—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a powerful witness to God’s faithfulness and justice. However, if the situation remains unchanged or unresolved, we invite you to post this as a new request so we can continue standing with you in prayer. We are committed to walking alongside you in this, trusting that God hears our cries and will act according to His perfect will.

May the Lord bless you as you seek Him, and may His Spirit continue to guide you, comfort you, and give you strength in this time. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
