Pray for this

Faithful Servant
Prayer request for disciplinary action to be taken by the church to the elder who is also a governmental minister, but created policies which only cared for foreigners while neglecting citizens, resulting in favoritism and partiality to be done in the church. May this result in repentance and move toward a stoppage to favoritism and move towards nationalism instead of the favoritism in foreigners while neglecting and not providing employment for locals, resulting in locals having to save up due to the sins of the Christian minister, unable to provide for his own but idolizing getting more foreigners to boost the birth rates while locals are abused and treated as second-class citizens of this country, given only contract employment where foreigners are given full-time permanent positions where they can't produce good quality and result in a lot of customers would rather spend in neighboring Malaysia, that is occurring in ###.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this serious matter of favoritism, partiality, and injustice within the church and its leadership. Father, we know that Your Word explicitly condemns such behavior, for You show no partiality and command Your people to do the same. In James 2:8-9, You tell us, *"If you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ you do well. But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors."* And in Acts 10:34-35, Peter declares, *"Most certainly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism; but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him."*

Lord, we rebuke the sin of favoritism in this situation, where an elder—who is also a minister in government—has created policies that elevate foreigners above citizens, neglecting the very people You have placed under his care. This is not only a failure of leadership but a violation of Your command to love and provide for all, especially those within the household of faith. In 1 Timothy 5:21, You warn, *"I command you in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality."* This elder has acted in direct contradiction to Your Word, and we pray that conviction would fall upon him like a heavy weight.

We also lift up the locals who have been treated as second-class citizens, forced into contract employment while foreigners receive permanent positions. Father, this is not the justice You desire. In Leviticus 19:15, You declare, *"You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor show favoritism to the great; but you shall judge your neighbor in righteousness."* The policies enacted here have led to financial hardship, frustration, and even the redirection of resources away from the nation You have entrusted to this minister’s care. We pray for restitution and correction—may the wrongs be made right, and may the locals no longer bear the burden of this elder’s sin.

Lord, we ask that You would bring this elder to true repentance. May he see the error of his ways and turn from his partiality, seeking Your will above political or personal agendas. In Proverbs 28:13, You promise, *"He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."* We pray that he would confess his sin before You and the church, making amends where possible and stepping down from leadership if necessary, as You instruct in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 that an overseer must be *"above reproach."*

Father, we also pray for the church’s leadership to act with wisdom and courage. In Matthew 18:15-17, You outline the process for dealing with sin in the church: *"If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector."* We pray that the church would follow this biblical model, confronting this elder in love but with firmness, and if he refuses to repent, removing him from his position of authority.

We also lift up the nation itself, Lord. The policies enacted by this minister have had far-reaching consequences, driving business and resources away and harming the very people he was called to serve. In Jeremiah 22:3, You command, *"Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong. Do no violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow; and don’t shed innocent blood in this place."* We pray that You would raise up leaders who govern with righteousness, fairness, and a heart for all citizens, not just a favored few.

Finally, Lord, we pray for unity and healing in the church and the nation. May this situation serve as a wake-up call to all believers, reminding us that our allegiance is first to You and Your kingdom, not to earthly agendas or divisions. In Ephesians 4:3, Paul urges us to *"be diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."* May Your people come together in humility, repentance, and a shared commitment to justice, so that Your name may be glorified and Your will done on earth as it is in heaven.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we are saved. There is no other mediator between God and man, and it is only through faith in Him that we are reconciled to You. We declare that Your justice will prevail, Your mercy will cover repentant hearts, and Your church will be purified for Your glory. Amen.

We join you in praying for this matter, dear friend. Our hearts ache as we consider the injustice and favoritism that has been allowed to flourish within the church and its leadership. We've been reminded of Jesus' words in Matthew 7:1-2, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Let's strive to apply this principle in our prayers and actions.

We lift up the elder who has created policies that favor foreigners over citizens. Lord, we pray for conviction to fall upon him, not with condemnation, but with love and a desire for repentance. May he see the error of his ways, confess his sin, and turn towards justice and fairness. We also pray for the church leadership to act with courage and wisdom, following the biblical process outlined in Matthew 18:15-17 to address this sin.

We intercede for the locals who have been treated unfairly, forced into contract employment while foreigners receive permanent positions. Lord, we pray for justice and restitution. May the wrongs be made right, and may the locals no longer bear the burden of this elder's sin.

We also lift up the nation, Lord. The policies enacted have had far-reaching consequences, driving business and resources away and harming the very people the minister was called to serve. We pray for leaders to be raised up who govern with righteousness, fairness, and a heart for all citizens.

Finally, Lord, we pray for unity and healing in the church and the nation. May this situation serve as a wake-up call to all believers, reminding us that our allegiance is first to You and Your kingdom. Help us to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, humbly repenting and committing ourselves to justice.

In Jesus' mighty name, we ask all these things. Amen.
