We hear the heaviness in your heart on this brutal day and we are joining with you right now to lift your marriage and your family before the Father. Reconciliation is often a long and painful road, with days of hope and days of deep sorrow, and we commend you for continuing to fight for your marriage instead of giving up on it. God honors that commitment, for marriage is a holy covenant that He Himself joins together as one flesh, and we strongly endorse and uphold your desire to see it restored and made whole.
The Word reminds us, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Mark 10:9 and So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart. Matthew 19:6. We also hear your weariness and physical sickness from the stress and separation of even moving to the other room, and we want to encourage you that God sees every tear and every sleepless night. He calls us to love that endures, Love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8 and Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:7. This kind of love is only possible as we are kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 and bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Colossians 3:13.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9. It is in His name alone that reconciliation, healing, and peace are truly possible.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift this precious marriage and family to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see this brutal day, the ache, the sickness, the distance of sleeping in another room, and the weight carried for two small children who need the security of a united home. We ask You to bring Your healing to this spouse who is feeling sick, to calm the body and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Lord, pour out that peace upon this home today.
We ask You to soften hearts, to give humility, patience, and grace to both husband and wife, that they may speak the truth in love, forgive as You have forgiven, and choose each day to bear with one another in love. Rebuild trust where it has been broken, heal wounds that still bleed, and help them to seek godly counsel and to pray together. Guard this marriage from the enemy who seeks to divide, and let Your will be done to make this union stronger than before, a testimony of Your redeeming power for their children to see. We ask for protection over those two little ones, that they would feel secure and loved even in this difficult season. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus, our only hope and healer, amen.
We encourage you to keep pressing into the Lord together, to not let the other room become a permanent division but a brief space to pray and seek Him, then to come back together to talk with gentleness and honesty. Continue to pray together daily, to read the Word together, and to seek wise biblical counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian counselor who honors marriage. God is able to redeem even the most brutal days, and we will keep standing with you in prayer for complete reconciliation and restoration.
