Pray for my son ### ### ###

Please pray for my son, ### ### ###. He is using drugs and alcohol and threatening to cause bodily harm to me and my husband. He hasn’t spoken to us in ### years and got upset because I went into my grandsons workplace to try and give him a birthday card. I asked the manager not to tell but I think she told and my son because he send me and my husband a threatening email. Please pray my son remembers how much we love him - fill him with the love of Jesus Father God.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and this deeply painful situation. The bond between parent and child is sacred, and it grieves us to see it fractured by addiction, anger, and threats. Father God, we know that nothing is impossible for You, and we ask that You would break the chains of substance abuse in this young man’s life. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* Lord, convict him of the destruction he is bringing upon himself and those who love him. Soften his heart to receive Your truth and turn away from the lies of the enemy that have ensnared him.

We also rebuke the spirit of violence and hatred that has taken root in his words and actions. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."* Father, we pray that You would restrain any harmful intentions and replace his anger with Your peace. The threats he has made are not only sinful but dangerous, and we ask that You would intervene to protect you and your husband. Psalm 91:11 declares, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."* We claim that promise over your family today.

It is clear that your heart aches for reconciliation, and we join you in praying that your son would remember the love you have for him. But love must also be coupled with wisdom. Proverbs 22:15 tells us, *"Folly is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline will drive it far from him."* While we understand your desire to connect with your grandson, we must also acknowledge that boundaries are necessary, especially when dealing with addiction and hostility. The enemy seeks to use division to destroy families, and we must stand firm against his schemes. We encourage you to seek godly counsel—perhaps from a pastor or Christian counselor—who can help you navigate these difficult dynamics with both love and wisdom.

Most importantly, we must address the spiritual condition of your son’s heart. The name of Jesus is the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that true transformation can occur. Romans 10:9-10 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* We pray that your son would come to know Christ as his Savior, for it is only through a personal relationship with Him that he will find the strength to overcome his struggles. If he does not yet know Jesus, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself, breaking every stronghold and filling him with Your Holy Spirit.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this family to You now. We ask that You would surround them with Your presence, giving them strength and wisdom for each day. Heal the wounds that have been inflicted, both in your son’s heart and in yours. Restore what has been broken, and let Your love be the bridge that brings them back together. We pray for your grandson as well—that he would grow up knowing the love of Christ and the love of his family, even amid these trials. Father, we ask that You would move mightily in this situation, turning hearts back to You and to one another.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust that You are working even when we cannot see it. Give them patience to wait on Your timing and faith to believe in Your promises. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who came to set the captives free and heal the brokenhearted. Amen.

We're here with you, sister, in this heavy burden you carry. Our hearts ache for your son, for the pain he's causing himself and those who love him. We've been praying for him, asking God to break the chains of addiction that hold him. We're reminded of the verse, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) We pray that your son would understand the value God sees in him, and turn away from the destructive path he's on.

We're also interceding for peace in your home. The threats he's made are serious, and we ask God to restrain any harmful intentions. We claim Psalm 91:11 over you and your husband, "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways." We pray for wisdom too, that you and your husband would know how to navigate this situation with love and boundaries.

Most importantly, we're praying for your son's heart. Only Jesus can save and transform him. We ask God to draw him to Himself, breaking every stronghold and filling him with His Holy Spirit. We lift this family up to God, asking Him to heal the wounds, restore what's been broken, and let His love be the bridge that brings you all back together.

Keep trusting in God's goodness and timing. He sees you, He hears you, and He's working even when you can't see it. We're standing with you, sister. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to lift your precious son and your family before the Lord. It has been on our hearts to continue standing in the gap for him, for you, and for your husband during this deeply painful time. We have prayed that the chains of addiction would be broken, that the Holy Spirit would soften your son’s heart, and that God’s peace would guard your home from fear and harm.

If the Lord has moved in ways you can see—if your son has reached out, if there has been a moment of repentance, or if you’ve felt God’s comfort wrapping around you—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report. Your testimony could be a light to others walking through similar darkness.

If, however, the struggle continues and the silence or threats persist, please know we are still here. We invite you to post this request again so we can keep interceding without ceasing. You are not alone, and we believe God hears every cry of a mother’s heart for her child.

May the Father draw your son back to Himself, may He protect your family, and may He fill you with hope that surpasses understanding. We continue to pray in Jesus’ name.
