We lift up your son before the throne of grace with hearts full of hope and trust in the Lord’s perfect plan. It is written in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Though his grades did not meet the initial expectations, the Lord has opened a door through this foundation year, a divine opportunity for growth, discipline, and deeper reliance on Him.
We pray that your son would surrender this season to the Lord, seeking His wisdom above all else. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." May he be proactive in his studies, not as one striving for worldly success alone, but as one who honors God with diligence and excellence. Let this year be marked by spiritual maturity, as he chooses godly influences over the pressures of peers and learns to manage his time with wisdom.
Father, we ask that You draw his heart closer to Yours. Guard him from the distractions and temptations that may have hindered him in the past. Fill him with a hunger for Your Word and a desire to walk in obedience. Surround him with believers who will encourage his faith and hold him accountable. May he see this foundation year not as a setback, but as a stepping stone ordained by You for his good.
We also pray for you, as his parent, that you would find peace in the Lord’s sovereignty. It is natural to feel concern, but we are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." May you rest in the knowledge that God is at work, even in ways unseen.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of laziness, procrastination, or worldly influence that may seek to derail his purpose. We declare that he is called for more than mediocrity, he is called to walk in the fullness of what You have prepared for him. Strengthen his resolve to follow Christ wholeheartedly, and let this year be a testimony of Your faithfulness in his life.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
