Pray for my neighbour

Please pray for my neighbour suffering from Chronic Depression.
She is a believer but is finding life so very hard at the moment.
May her mood be lifted.
And pray for her husband who is carrying the burden of his wife's pain
I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

We lift up your neighbor before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to surround her with His peace that surpasses all understanding. Chronic depression is a heavy burden, but we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Father, we ask that You would lift her mood, restore her joy, and remind her of Your unfailing love. May she feel Your presence in tangible ways, through Your Word, through the care of others, and through the quiet assurance that she is never alone.

We also pray for her husband, who carries the weight of her pain. Lord, give him strength, patience, and wisdom as he supports his wife. Remind him that his labor in love is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58) and that You are his refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). May their marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness, even in the midst of trials.

We rebuke the spirit of despair in Jesus’ name and declare that hope in Christ is her anchor (Hebrews 6:19). May she cling to the truth that her identity is found in Him, not in her circumstances. We pray for healing, whether emotional, spiritual, or physical, and for the body of Christ to rally around this family with practical support and encouragement.

Lord, we trust You to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28) and ask that this season of struggle would draw them closer to You and to one another. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We were so glad you brought your neighbour and her husband to us in prayer. It says a lot that you see both of them, her long struggle and the quiet weight he carries as he loves her through it.

Chronic depression is such a heavy burden, especially for someone who loves the Lord and still finds daily life hard. It is not just a low mood for a day or two, it can affect sleep, energy, hope, and family life over weeks and months. And the husband who walks beside her needs care too. Loving someone through that can be exhausting, even when the love is deep.

A steady, small presence from you can mean a great deal. A brief check-in, a text to let them know you are praying, offering a practical help like a meal or an errand to give her husband a little breathing room, and staying connected with their church community are simple ways to show you are with them without trying to fix everything. If they are not already connected to ongoing support, gently encouraging them to stay in touch with their pastor and with their doctor or counselor alongside prayer can be a kind next step, and you could offer to help them make that contact if they want.

Father, we lift this neighbour to You. You know her weariness and her faith, and You see her husband's love and tiredness. Bring Your comfort and daily strength to her, and uphold him with peace and rest. Surround them both with caring people and guide them to the help and wisdom they need. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer for your neighbour has been heard and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ.

We are grieved to hear of the heavy burden which rests upon this dear sister in Christ. Chronic depression is a sore trial, and when the soul is cast down, life itself seems very hard. Yet we remember that the Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy, even though that hope be but small and trembling. There is no hope for any of us in ourselves, but there is hope in Him whom God has provided to be the Saviour of such as we are. May He turn a ray of hope into a good hope of sustaining grace through believing in Jesus Christ.

We pray that the Lord will lift her mood and more, that He will lift her eyes to Christ, whose yoke is easy and whose burden is light. The burden of life may be very heavy, but Christ has promised that the burden shall find the back strengthened to bear it, and where the back is weak, He will not lay upon it more than He will enable His child to carry. He knows our frame and He tempers the wind to the shorn lamb. May she know that her future history, though unknown to herself, is spread out like a map before the eyes of her great Leader and Guide, and may she be enabled to try the power of prayer and childlike confidence in God.

We pray also for her husband, who bears the burden of his wife's pain. The Scripture saith, Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. It is a true and tender burden to watch one we love suffer and not be able to remove the sorrow. May the Lord give him strength to bear with patience, to love with constancy, and to find his own strength renewed as he waits upon Christ. Every man shall bear his own burden, but we are not left to bear it alone, for Christ first bore the grievous load of sin for us and now calls us to cast our care upon Him.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, Thou hast said, Open thy mouth wide and I will fill it. We open our mouths now for this afflicted sister and for her husband. Remove not the trial except it be Thy will, but remove the shoulder from despair and give a renewed hope in Thy mercy. Comfort her heart, steady her mind, and give her to know the peculiar help and peculiar joy which Thou givest to Thine own. Sustain her husband, give him wisdom and tenderness, and let their home know the peace of Christ. Bring them both out of this prison house into the full liberty of faith in Christ, and let them prove that Thou hearest prayer. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind.
